  • iMSN "Names

OK, anyone who's comfortable explaining their iMSN name...I'm so curious about many of them. (I've been thinking about it since I learned the meaning of "ShrinkJamie"!).

I'll start (mine may be obvious): I picked GrayMatterWife because my husband is a neurosurgeon and plays in gray matter all day!

TulipsAndSunscreen, Moonlight, Houseelf, Suzy (who's actually named Cheri) Sunshine, LadyMoreta, McPants, SnowWhite, Rapunzel...y'all in particular!

I'm Jane b/c my in-laws called me Jane for 4 years into my marriage, even though my name is Jenn. I even got a Christmas card addressed to Jane and DH from them.

I've also been Jesher (the name my dad called me when I was a kid and / or as an adult when he would speak to me), and my original username actually had my last name in it b/c I was so clueless about this sort of thing that it didn't occur to me NOT to use my name.

I'm so original, my name is Luanne. My hotmail is Luanne 123, can't remember, but probably 1,2 and 1 were taken.

What a fun idea! I've been curious about a lot of people's "names", too.

Mine originally comes from the character Moreta from a fantasy book series by Anne McCaffrey, about dragons and dragonriders. I started playing an online video game back in undergrad, and I named my character Moreta, after the book. Later, I joined a forum for people who played that game, and we got to choose a title. I chose "Lady" because the title of the book was "Moreta, Dragonlady of Pern". And that stuck... I've been using it for forum names ever since.

I chose my favorite Arabic condiment: pickled turnips. They turn bright pink/fuchsia because a cut beat soaks w/them in the brine.
          I started out as Suzybelle.

Holy crap! I guess a name change maybe in order...I just found pink pickle on Uraban dictionary...slang for penis!

Fess up...who knew about this and didn't mentioned it!!!??? LOL

Well I originally used my first initial last name like a genius since I was new to the whole forum concept. So this is actually my second name.

When I was young, when something unexpected or exciting used to happen, my mom would say, "it's a miracle, like tulips and sunscreen!" Obviously, she knows those things have physical explanations but how DO they work? It does seem rather miraculous that a tulip knows exactly when to come up and how beautifully it's formed (tulips are my favorite flower). And the fact that you can put on lotion, prance around in the sun and never get burned is also pretty miraculous, especially when you're as albino as we are.

I use that as a reminder that God works in ways great and small in my life and to be thankful for even the simplest things. It was something I hadn't really thought about as a username, I was just sitting here one day and it came to me, so I used it. But I do really like it!

This is a great idea for a post, btw.

Mine is rather boring. L is the first letter of my first name and Jane is what I shorten my middle name down to.

My middle name is long and spelled wrong because my mom was still high on drugs when they came to have her fill out my name on the birth certificate. The happy accident from that is it caused my middle name to start out with Jane.

                    This pretty good.

Mine is actually because even though DH is in one of the "hardest" specialties I used to be the optimist on this site. I'm not sure that holds as much anymore but when we had a chance to change our names I changed mine to SuzySunshine. I think I was being pretty punchy that day.

I am mommax3 because I am a mom "times" 3....I have three kids. If my boys happen to see my user name, they always think it is mom/max/3 and they ask me who max is. So if anyone here has wondered the same thing, now you know there is no max.

                          Re: iMSN "Names

I talk on thenest.com and am kind of embarrassed by my screenname because I used the wrong homonym in the first half. Oops!

So, this time I decided to keep it boring. I'm a born and raised Hoosier but have lived in New York City since I was 18. I'm very much both places, I feel.

It took me MONTHS to realize this... Even after reading your signature line it didn't click. I am *so* slow sometimes!
