We just bought a micro 4/3 camera, and I'd say it's right in between P&S and DSLR; it's in-between in size; you DO need a lens on it, like a DSLR, but they make "pancake" lenses that aren't bulky. There ARE a lot of settings you can play with, but there's also an "auto" mode. This site might be a place to start (note that it has 4/3 AND micro-4/3): http://www.four-thirds.org/en/index.htmlSandy

Embarassingly, I don't actually know/remember. DH did the research and bought it; as I recall, amazon was having a bundle deal; he got the body and "comes with" lens AND another lens for a decent discount. I know it's one of the panasonic lumix ones, but don't remember which model exactly.Sandy

So then the salesman (who said more then enough he wasn't on commission) tried to convince me on the Canon SX50 which is a point and shoot that looks like a mini DSLR. I don't know - I hate making decisions like this because it is a lot of money but we can keep a good one for many years. UGH!Wife to NSG out of training, mom to 2, 10 & 8, and a beagle with wings.
