It was beautiful, classy and tasteful. I mean, did anyone really want her to take risks and compete with Diana's dress? If I were in her shoes, I'd do the same.

Congrats to the couple for a mature, tasteful, regal wedding and to all of England for its rich heritage!

I'm not saying that she should have shown more cleavage or have been less conservative. I just didn't think the dress had any sort of wow-factor.
        This.

And I don't think it is vain to want avoid looking bald at a young age or getting some teeth whiteners before your wedding. I had hair extensions for my wedding and I don't think that makes me vain.

Ok dress. I liked the her sister's bridesmaid dress. Eventhough it was white.

I thought Pippa looked incredible. I wonder if this will spawn a spate of white bridesmaid dresses. This is the unconventional twist I think everyone was expecting.

I think one of the cutest parts was seeing Prince Harry in the carriage with the tiny bridesmaids and grooms men. So very sweet.

She looked beautiful as well. I think they said her dress was just the slightest bit off white. I like that for bridesmaids (especially since mine wore a very light cream).

Hair extensions and teeth whitening are not hair plugs and orthodontics. Man. Why didn't Kate het breast augmentation to fill out her bodice? You would think she could afford it.

To each their own on what constitutes vanity I suppose. I've had orthodontia and plastic surgery (not my on boobs, I am so flat chested I didn't even have to wear a bra with my wedding dress) so I guess I'm coming from a different perspective!

                    Sorry to hijack.

I really loved the pics of the her sister and the little ones as well

ETA: I don't think I ever made mention of the cost of those things having anything to do with it....

Every bit of that lace was hand-made, too.

I loved Pippas dress as well--especially the buttons!

DH had an opinion on the dress--didn't like it. Said she look too "skeletor"

I didn't realize he watched the wedding, but he apparently stayed up all night studying and decided to turn it on...after making fun of me for wanting to watch at midnight!

I thought it was beautiful, too! But I'm no good at fashion, so I really shouldn't have a say...

I thought it was gorgeous, classy and very appropriate for a traditional royal wedding. Also agree that it was better to go with understated elegance than try to out wow Diana's dress.

Have to agree with Kris regarding Europeans not being as vain. But that's a whole different discussion because while Europeans don't bother taking take of their teeth, they'll also never go to the supermarket in pjs. Everyone's definition of vain is different.

I looked at pics of the dress this morning and was amazed! She looked so elegant and confident, as if she didn't feel the need to try and impress anyone. Since there is no way to compete with Diana, why bother.

I agree with Vishenka totally on the dress. Spot-on. Nice improvement from her tackier style since of earlier days, when she caught the Prince's attention by parading down the runway at a fashion show in a see-through dress showing off her underwear.

I am glad she didn't try to "out wow" Diana. Diana's dress was a bloated, overloaded, headaching inducing get-up that swallowed her up, and looked like it was selected by a 19-year-old who thinks that cost and fussiness equates to style. hmmm...wait. Come to think of it...maybe that explains Diana's dress.

What is with Europeans and their teeth? I don't get that. Do they not have flouride in the water? And you're SO right about properly dressing. Europeans must be appalled at how Americans dress themselves at times.

To any degree, I didn't watch the wedding, but I saw the kiss on the balcony afterwards. They seem genuinely in love. Good for them! Wish them luck. May William be a better man than his father, and may she be more mature and less dippy than Diana.
