Europeans might not be that vain, but Brits love their crazy, faked-boobed, overtanned celebrities (e.g, Katie Price). Anyway, to each their own. I had braces and I whitened my teeth. Some might say that's vain, but I just liked how it looked. It's no more vain than getting a flattering haircut IMO. If I were in the public spotlight, I'd be more apt get that stuff. But, Will has never really been one to cherish the spotlight, so it would make sense that he wouldn't care.

As long as you like how you look, do whatever the heck you want.

LOL. I only drive the kids to school in my pajamas. And yes....my mil and mom are horrified by it! I would be horrified too if I didn't have 5 kids and feel totally exhausted in the am! Someday when I'm a mil I hope to be horrified by the same behavior in my dil! mwahahaha

Teeth serve a functional purpose for most Germans that I know.

On the flipside, they wouldn't be caught dead in sweat pants unless they're exercising.

I thought the whole affair rather sweet, even for a giant shin-dig. The dresses were classic and Prince Harry joking around with the children during the carriage ride was adorable.

I'm not into the whole giant, over-priced wedding thing, but they really seemed to take tradition to heart while still somehow making the day their own. I wish them all the best.

The dress was very pretty and I loved the lace. I thought she might do something like that. Strapless dresses are very popular but royal tradition dictates the brides have their arms covered. I felt the style was a compromise between the modern trend and traditional royalty.

I got up early to watch the wedding. I flipped between channel 2.1 CBS and channel 7.1 NBC which seemed to be the only two channels carrying continuous coverage. Channel 7.1 had better camera focus and some sort of sound neutralizer for the wedding bells and crowd. Channel 2.1 allowed the wedding bells, which rang for three hours in honor of a royal wedding, and crowd noise so it seemed very festive. The first balcony kiss I missed because it was so quick but the second balcony kiss was much longer. When they opened the balcony doors on Catherine you could read her lips and she said "Oh WOW!" and after the second kiss you could read Williams lips and it seemed he said, "You want more," to the crowd or, "They want more," to her.

I loved every moment and I cried when it began as I was watching her get in her car and go to her wedding. It reminded me of my wedding day and the happiest day of my life and how happy this day must be for her. You could feel the immense love through the TV and happiness as the sun came out. Harry peaked at her coming down the isle and seemed to crack jokes with his brother to keep him calm. There were lovely trees in Westminster Abbey. Pippa's dress was lovely too, which they said in Britian it is more custom for the bridesmaids to match the bride so they will wear white were in the States it's not the tradition. The little boys in their matching outfits were darling. The carriage ride was straight out of a Cinderella fairytale land. The service was lovely and I thought they really said beautiful things to them. She got her prince and became a royal princess today. I had no idea it was Saint Catherine's Day.

The only thing I didn't like was how Catherine kept licking her lips the entire time. I began to get bugged by it. She may have had cotton mouth from calming drugs taken the night before to get some rest, or the day of, to stay poised in front of millions, or she was very dehydrated because she didn't eat or drink anything before her wedding, which is what I did from nerves, or her lipstick wasn't very good, or even worse it's a nervous habit of hers and we'll catch her licking her lips continuously again.

The British sure love their hats! It seems the more outrageous the better (Princess Beatrice). I love looking at all the crazy hats.

I thought her dress was beautiful and looked beautiful on her. I think so many of today's dresses upstage the bride that is wearing them, I didn't think hers did at all. I did wonder before if she'd wear a strapless dress with a lace jacket or something since so many churches still require or request brides to have their shoulders covered.

I thought she also picked, or was given (??) the perfect tiara. Also understated but very much a statement that she is now a princess.

As for Pipa's dress, I heard a British commentator say that other people wearing white to a wedding isn't as big of a deal as it would be here. I thought it also looked stunning on her.

I thought the whole thing was beautiful and timeless and most importantly they both looked truly happy.

I teared up too!!! I hardly ever cry at weddings. I think it's just because they looked so gosh-darn happy.

I swore to myself that I wouldn't care about this wedding, but (unsurprisingly), I got sucked in yesterday and just had to see it.

This is exactly how I felt! I was so happy for them, it could have been ME up there getting married again! I've been to the abbey and it just makes it all the more special (for me). I thought they all look great. I would give my right arm to be at those receptions and parties today. Congrats Will and Kate!!

It was loaned to her by the Queen.

I said it before, but I think it was truly, truly lovely. I don't think it will end up looking as dated as Diana's (and she avoided the pitfall of the wrinkles -- gotta love a girl who can learn from mistakes made before her). Considering the arm-covering requirement of Westminster Abbey, and the fact that these pictures will be trotted out FOREVER, I think she made a wonderful, wonderful choice.

I hope they are truly in love. They'll need the strength of that bond to withstand being the public eye like that for eternity. Just look at how catty some of the remarks here have been, and we have no real stake in them at all. They do seem much more affectionate than Charles and Diana ever did. Good for Will for taking his time in choosing a wife, and thus far Kate has really conducted herself beautifully.

This. It was simple, classic, and elegant.

So according to what I read the Queen can't really give the jewels, they all belong to the crown jewels and they are basically permanently loaned to someone but they always belong to the crown jewels.

                                Interesting.

Does anyone know why it was a requirement for her to cover her arms completely?
