  • I really fucking love you. I cannot believe I'm leaving 80° to come see you. Seriously, you have no idea.

      Mwah.

Sophie wants pics of Florida. She cannot fathom the difference.

      • Yes, Angie, we do...it was originally scheduled as a *vacation* day and not a snow make-up day, and couldn't be changed. However, a lot of schools are in session tomorrow that weren't originally scheduled to be, and I think it may bite them in the butt around the time school is getting out. And now I am hearing the first whispers about a potential winter storm next weekend. Florida/Spring Break has never looked so good!

                • In the 10-15 minutes I was in school this morning for drop off, enough snow accumulated on the car that I needed to brush it off.

                  • We're supposed to get 3-5" through tomorrow. BUT, Thursday is supposed to be 44 and rainy, so hopefully a lot of this will melt. In the beginning of winter, I'm all gung-ho about keeping my sidewalk cleared. This morning, I cleared a pathetic little path the width of my narrow little shovel...and I only did that much because my son's friend was coming over.

So. Over. It. I did see a light at the end of the tunnel today; there were birds chirping this morning!! Yay!

It is still snowing here - hour 6 of this crap and about 4" have fallen so far. I am overjoyed that there are no activities tonight and that the 11 year old his home today so he can shovel some of it.

This morning the temp was 25 degrees. That is a good 30 degrees warmer than it has been in the mornings lately. It was wonderful to not have to warm up the car.

                      • Holy. Shit. The roads are the worst I've seen them in a long time! I literally got stuck on the freeway today. It took me a good 5 minutes to get going again. Luckily people gave me plenty of space, but it's hard to concentrate on getting a honda civic out of the snow while bracing myself for the crash that I can't believe didn't happen!

Sorry, I always thought they did a shitastic job of clearing the streets there.

wow, I'm glad you're OK. I came back from 'tosa early afternoon and they were already horrible. I don't want to imagine what it was like a few hours later.

In other news, was today the first day of spring?

                              • Well the blue birds and robin red breasts must be confused and think it's Spring time here. I saw them this week and I said sorry guys the ground hog says there's still four more weeks of winter left.

It's been raining hard here for the last week. I wonder where all the rain is going? I've also been craving beef stroganoff today every time I look at the rain. I wonder if the traditional PNW rainy weather goes with beef stroganoff? It used to be I had grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup on rainy days, so perhaps a full rainy week is one upped to a hearty beef stroganoff in my cravings book?
