We'll get all our stuff out of storage when DH graduates at the end of May. I can't wait! We packed it all up almost a year ago. It's going to be so excited to see what I own again. Haha. I've forgotten most of it!

          • We are in KC - the areas where the sun has hit is melted but we still have a lot in places, our real feel is 25!

            • The plum trees are in full bloom. We have daffodils, hyacinths, primroses, and azaleas under a blue sky. We've tilled the veggie garden and today is for some planning and some weeding the flower beds. It's 46 degrees, but still warming up, and you can put a jacket on to enjoy that.

              One young wild plum tree,
White in the bare woods, a bride
              Among wedding guests.

Hush now, it isn't nice to gloat to those of us stuck with the polar vortex...

I think the kids and I got sunburned today. My back hurts from hoeing, but at least the beds are soft and fluffy now.

You can take your turn to gloat when it's midsummer and still barely 60 here!

                  • Spring rains have arrived! It's been raining pretty hard for two days straight. That's not good for mudslides and flooding but it's really good for relieving Spring allergies so yay!

                    • I just took the dog out in the backyard and noticed that the strawberry plants are starting to put out shoots, as are the onions that overwintered because they were too small.

                      • Heavy showers. Nearly half way through lambing. One lamb on the bottle but with the ewe. Kids call her and she dashes over for a feed. My son loves lambing time and this year seems to be using it to his advantage by asking all his lassie friends over to help!

We've some amazing first time mums who have the fiercest instincts to protect their own. Lots of stamped front feet with a good huff & puff thrown in!

                        • I love the lambie is a slicker! And the boy is pretty sweet as well.

How many ewes do you have? Are they raised for wool or meat?

                          • Meat flock. Run a dozen ewes. We sell some butchered, some go to market but most we eat.

Good lessons for kids throughout the year.

All of us knitters over here are wondering what happens to the wool...
