If it's any consolation, I once spent 9 hours in a public library because I'd seen a house centipede in my kitchen and refused to return to the house until DH had gone home and searched extensively for it (like it was still going to be in the same place it was 9 hours later. Really?? Talk about irrational).

He trims them occasionally with his electric trimmer. I guess he forgot to check the setting before he started. I offered to loan him my eyebrow pencil. I have a feeling the other residents are going to give him a lot of crap over this. He's mostly laughing about it though. Let's hope they grow back fast, and be thankful that we didn't have any pictures planned.

I'll see if he'll let me take one tomorrow! He's in bed now (to his credit, he did empty the dishwasher first without having to be asked, and he got out of bed to help me finish cleaning the kitchen when I asked nicely).

                • He didn't empty the dishwasher after all. I swear I heard him in there earlier. I may have been a little louder than necessary when I did it myself. I would have let it go for a night, but I hate leaving dishes in the sink when the cleaning lady comes. I also hate leaving a full dishwasher, because she puts things away and I can't always find them, but that seemed like the better choice tonight. So frustrated. I don't want to nag, but I really feel like this shouldn't be that hard. I do so many things to keep this house together before I go to bed every night, I don't know why he can't do just a couple of small things.

                  • Nothing like being woken up at 3am by the flashing lights and loud beeping of a building-wide fire alarm in a hotel. Just thankful it was a false alarm (only in our room, whaa...?) and not the real deal.

                    • I hate today.

I forgot to bring in the check for E's school, again. (I filled out the forms to redo the automatic payment, but they increased the price this year - I already filled them out once, but they apparently lost them, so I guess I need to redo them, and I keep forgetting).
I spent all freaking morning in the most boring faculty meeting ever.
Because of the busy crap and stress, my pumping output is awful.
My department chair suggested I teach the Intro to Biostats course in the spring because my course isn't going to have enough people in it, and I need to teach a large course to pass my 3rd year faculty review. I feel highly unqualified to teach that, and I think it would be a waste of my time and a disservice to the students. If they try to make me do that, I'll seriously consider getting off of the tenure track.
I just deleted half of the content in my Blackboard course on accident.

                        I am upset.
I read something on the internet where a person insinuated that a male OB, wanting to perform a cervical check on a patient (36 weeks) was clearly just trying to "feel her". And, people were agreeing!

...what is this world coming to?!
That man could be someone's husband, someone's father.

                          • Pollyanna, this is still standard procedure, isn't it? Why would someone immediately go there, and say such awful things?
(People were calling BS, since the OB stated it was needed to determine baby's position).

                            • Ugh. People suck. That's horrific. There's nothing remotely sexual about it. I need to make my own state. Residency requires application with strict anti-stupid guidelines.

This. That is outrageous. And this is solely because he is male?! WTF?
