  • So this has been my Saturday. Caught up on some work while drinking coffee, was practicing by 10am. Out the door by 11:15 for a rehearsal. Get back a little before 2:00. My violinist was here by 2:30 for another rehearsal. We finish around 5:00pm. After she leaves husband, me and a neighbor are talking. I say I'd like to get to our friends house for dinner / grilling around 6pm because FRANKLY I want to put up my feet and drink some wine. Husband immediately starts giving me this condescending 'your life is so easy' attitude saying he doesn't want to go that early and HE THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO THE GYM TODAY. Husband, I know you're proud of yourself that you've started going for 30 minute runs after TWO FUCKING YEARS of not exercising but don't treat me like I'm a lazy piece of shit when I've been busy all day and you've been sitting on your ass playing on Garage Band.

      • Why do I get migraines when DrK is completely unavailable? He's studying for boards and I'm totally sick. The kids have been so good and it hasn't been a stressful day at all. Still, I feel like I have a spike in my head, I can't see straight, and im nauseous. So unfair. *whine*

        • Back from our nannies wedding for one hour and I'm about to get alone time and DH is about to play with the kids and he gets paged into the hospital. Won't be home until midnight. Toddler immediately goes ballistic and starts slamming doors and throwing toys. Perfect.

I'm having one of those "I can't fucking do this for one more hour let alone minimally 2.75 more years (not counting fellowship) moments."

Hugs. Sometimes, it's a half-assed kinda job night. Throw on a movie and the kids eat cereal straight from the box for dinner kinda night. You have a glass of wine, while coming here for a whole lot of whine. Also, I have been known to make a batch of cookie dough, just the dough, for these occasions. No wonder I'm in my current predicament. But, whatever, you gotta get through somehow.

            • Went to dinner and DS burned his fingers after sticking them into his mac and cheese. Thankfully, it's only a first degree burn. Who the hell serves a piping hot kids meal? So angry!!

If I didn't have the only toddler on the planet who ignores the TV....

I'm the genius who's proud her kid doesn't like tv until I need it to babysit for 5 minutes. GAW!!!

We survived. Barely. Seriously barely. Nursing the baby down now. This is why I'm not getting knocked up again until he figured out the fellowship plan...

I just can't stand that I spent the entire weekend alone at a wedding with my children to come home and have him leave. Like don't I accrue awesome points or something that earn me five minutes alone???? No? Damnit!

Someone tried to touch my belly at Walgreen's on Friday.
My hands were full, I was in line to check out, and I had my sunglasses on.
She snaked her hand towards me! I had to quickly shimmy backwards and loudly say "Please don't touch me!"

Poor little guy! DH and I have a dream of opening up a restaurant that's a combination of Chick Fil A (indoor playground), Chuck E. Cheese (arcades), and an upscale restaurant (amazing food and alcohol for parents). The policy would be to prepare the kids' food first, cut it into small bites, and put it in a refrigerator for a few minutes before bringing it to the table with the parents' meal still hot.

                      • Tonight is tough. My great grandma is heading back to the er for the second time since midnight last night. I love her dearly and she has been so good to me. It hurts me to hear her in such pain.

Dh is going to talk to the er doc at least and start demanding more answers.

                        • We're sick. Again. I think I may have strept (sp?) throat. Just got over a cold two weeks ago and had the nastiest stomach flu AND chest cold that turned in pneumonia in May and June. I don't get why we are getting so sick in the spring/summer/fall months.

Have you had a recent work up done?
That's a lot of illnesses in a short amount of time.
Do you have any environmental/food allergies?
                            Has DD changed schools?

DD is with the same in home daycare provider she's been with. DH was at a children's hospital April-June and brought home those bugs. I was put on steroids for the chest cold and STILL got pnemonia but I am prone to it because I have asthma and got pnemonia at six weeks old.

DH has gotten everything I have except milder. Although he doesnt have this sore throat.

He is in the lab now so I'm not sure who is getting who sick lately. Im heading to prompt care as soon as they open this morning. I'm supposed to have my annual appt with my internist this afternoon, but I'm not sure if he'll want to see me while I am sick.
