    Happy Election Day!

In our current city, everyone seems impressed by the crumbling mediocrity, and nobody seems to want to make it better. I do feel bad about not voting though...
See! They do nothing with all that cash!!!!

And I totally understand. I felt weird voting on local issues during fellowship, since I didn't feel like I really "lived there." But it was a presidential election year, so they got my votes anyway.

I voted early last week. We had a ton of amendments to vote on, so I actually did some research on all of them before I went in and tried to be informed.

Same here, ALOY. Love early voting; we were in and out in 10 minutes!

I'm kind of glad I can't vote because politicians suck!

I don't know if I'm going to make it--since DH has been working like crazy, I haven't found time to go stand in line with both kids. I really want to though because I've been looking forward to voting against Wendy Davis since the summer of 2013 when she declared she stood for Texas women. Apparently not, according to the polls. I cant say I particularly love Greg Abbott, but I particularly cannot stand her.

DH actually did vote for once--he was able to at the VA

Well I wish you could. You'll have the same problem we do! And he's like a billionaire that always owned his own business. It's annoying!!! Plus I think his threshold for the increase starts at something like 100K. That's right, that family of five with 100k income is just swimming in cash!

Same here. He could have gone this morning before his 8a-8p shift started, but he was having issues charting from home last night (damn EMR) so he left home this AM before the polls even opened.

But I voted and explained to my little one that we will go there often together until she is old enough to go by herself. I'm sure she didn't understand me, but I relish the opportunity to explain to her a lot as she grows

We now have a hybrid all-mail voting system, and I enjoy having the time at home to research and discuss as I fill out the ballot. I will remain nonpartisan (out loud) but say that I am very curious to find out how the state legislative races go! Love your state legislators, everyone (and if you didn't see the John Oliver clip about this, go find it)!

I think the most interesting of our statewide ballot measures is about GMO labeling, and the most interesting local measure for my suburb is about a pit bull ban.

I heard! I tell DH he's voting for both of us so choose wisely
I really need to get the ball rolling before the next election. I think 11 years is long enough to not have a vote, anywhere.

Yes yes yes!!! And political mailings. I think we could save the whole rainforest if they would just stop sending those flyers that go straight in the trash/recycling.

I voted at 9:30 this morning. No line it all. It was fantastic. I consider myself independent, but generally vote conservative. I voted for Kasich today because 1) as Sheherezade said earlier, I like him and he actually seems like a fairly respectable guy as far as politicians go and 2) his opponent seems like kind of an idiot who ran a completely terrible campaign. If Fitzgerald had anything good going for him, I never saw it.

Ohio sends everyone absentee ballot applications ahead of time, so DH was able to vote absentee pretty easily. I like to actually go to the polls, but it was nice for both of us to see the actual ballot ahead of time and be able to research the issues and the 10000000 judges that were on it. For the judges I had to make a list to remember who everyone was. I pulled out my phone in the booth to check it and felt like I was cheating on a test or something. Haha.

Speaking of, our gubernatorial race is a total wash bc Fitzgerald (Dem) has run the worst. campaign. ever. Seriously. If you're not a completely dialed in politico, you have no frickin clue who he is. It's embarrassing.
Yes, this was a hard choice!

We have a remove the red light/speed cameras incentive on the ballot. Pretty exciting since I drive past a few on my work commute.

I happily voted against her. I was tempted to vote for the lady running for senate — Spicy Brown.

How do you research the judges? I didn't want to read through a bunch of court transcripts to see how they judge. And I couldn't find a quick synopsis. I should be better informed next time. I just kept them all because I didn't have any reason NOT to retain them.
