So much confusion with E's school. I thought they were open Mon-Tues and closed Wed-Fri for teacher training (they do this every year). The list of closure dates I received only lists Wed-Fri, though in previous years they have been closed the whole week. On my way out Friday, I asked the afternoon receptionist to confirm, and she asked if I had been given the holiday care sheet ($35/day), and I said no, that I guess we wouldn't be in on Mon-Tues. She's an older lady and doesn't always have the correct information. Concerned that nobody had told me Mon-Tues were holiday care days, I e-mailed the director Friday afternoon, but she hadn't responded, so I just assumed we were staying home all week. She just e-mailed me back and confirmed that I was correct the first time, that only the PK and up classes have holiday care, and daycare isn't doing holiday care anymore, they're either open or they're not (what I had thought was true, based on a previous letter we had received). So...I guess I need to go prep a couple of breakfast and lunches, because I have a ton of work to do and would much prefer to send her to school for the next 2 days!Allison - professor; wife to a urology attending; mom to baby girl E (11/13), baby boy C (2/16), and a spoiled cat; knitter and hoarder of yarn; photographer

Yikes alotofyarn how frustrating to have such information inconsistency.
I don't really have a rant except DF is on survival haha that was meant to be surgery rotation (2 weeks in 6 to go). He warned me it would be rough. We speak about once a week now and a text message every few days. It's a bit lonely. Good things I've got my iMSN peeps and my study August might be a long month...(not to sound entitled or anything)

Had DH drop our dog at the groomer this afternoon. Asked for a Westie cut. Pointed out lengths. Guy made it seem like he knew what he was talking about.
I picked up the dog. She looks like she has an even shave all around. I'm guessing somewhere between 1/4" and 1/2" left. In what universe is that a Westie cut? The manager admitted the groomer was new. Uh....thanks? Got some coupons for future visits, but I'm not taking her back. Totally a not real problem, but argh.

This is our girl right now. She short hair sort of makes her look like a puppy, so my annoyance is tempered.

The baby nurse just told me she may need to stay with previous client a few extra weeks and wants to bring over the woman she will be "job sharing with." I was a little annoyed since I booked this so long ago. But then she told me the pervious client is starting chemo August 11th.... So now I feel bad, but I'm also kind of like - why can't the other lady work for the previous client.
Anyway I'm a bad person. It's just kind of last minute. I hope I like this other lady.

Awe. Thank you. I agree. They are basically living here. We just bought a second guest bed for the occasion. But fingers crossed it will be ok. I'm thinking I'll start looking for a nanny or someone more reasonably priced for during the day after the first month or so anyway.
New rant. I was sleeping great until an absurd thunderstorm woke me up, and of course 10 minutes later DH got called in. I heard a helicopter flying in the middle of it - no idea how - and knew it'd be for him. I hate when he gets called in during bad weather. AND now my heartburn is awful and I can't fall back asleep. I'm loving this third trimester thing!

Why when you need something you never see it for sale? I'm after 6 hula hoops to make Quiditch goals and suddenly Glasgow is devoid of them. On the upside young lassie assistant told me I didn't look like I needed to work out.
Must wipe smile from face.
