Well, if nothing else, the military is really good about keeping people up-to-date on everything!

I take a multi-vitamin everyday (with 100% Folic Acid- I know what spina bifida can do!!)

and yes, practice, practice practice! of course it helps if one's spouse is home and kind of awake. At least for participatory purposes- I suppose he doesn't need to be all that awake in theory! But we only have one more week of NICU and then there's three months of clinic to look forward to!

Kristen, you asked if I was doing OK. I'm fine - or I thought I was until my doctor informed me a couple of days ago that I officially have gestational diabetes! I have been through one "high risk" pregnancy so far - so I guess I get to have another one! Well, this means I'm probably going to be induced two or three weeks early to avoid having a "fluffly" baby (and I really don't want a c-section). So, I can probably safely push my due date up a few weeks to the beginning/middle of January. So, now I've had TTTS, pre-eclampsia, AND gestational diabetes - I guess my body just doesn't cope with pregnancy very well! Ugh!

Oh my gosh, Jennifer! I'm sorry to hear about the diabetes. A friend of mine developed gestational diabetes and they were able to control it with diet..I hope that it will work like that for you. They checked the baby's weight regularly and let her go to term...she was just 7 pounds...but they caught the diabetes REALLY early...so I don't know what it will mean for you...

My heart goes out to you...I've had pretty uncomplicated pregnancies...but none of the births have lacked in the drama department!

I'm wishing you all of the best for a smooth end to this pregnancy! I hope it comes soon for you...it has to be exhausting being pregnant and having three little ones running around too! My hats go off to you.....
