The fact that so many names go through cylcles of popularity can be a problem. If every other person has your name, it lacks the uniquenss your parents were are striving for (Jennifer's case in point). I would go with an uncommon, yet recognizable name for that reason. We all usually have to spell out our last names, so it's nice if you don't have to do that with your first name too. That said, I thought that by picking Natalie and Grace, that I was picking those sorts of names. I later realized (after a month or so) that they were both in the top 100 names used, Grace being in the top 25. Oh well...
What about "Naomi"? I remember we were thinking of "Naomi" and "Sonja" for our twins, until my sister Sonja said she didn't want one named after her. I haven't heard of anyone using "Rose", "Anne", or "Barbara" lately.
