When I posed that question to the contractor, he said "that's what friends and family are for".

OMG! We were supposed to start flooring this morning (in advance of the laundry renovation — basically, all flooring not affected by the laundry, then laundry, then flooring some more). I spent the whole weekend preparing for a week long family camp out in our basement, stripped beds and moved mattresses to the basement this morning and effectively vacated our whole second floor.

The flooring contractor called about an hour ago to tell me that they cannot find our flooring in their warehouse. Their records say they’ve had the materials for a month but now they’ve vanished, possibly sent to another job, and they have to order more from Georgia.

          Is it always this hard?

How do they misplace 2000 square feet of flooring?!

Sounds like they need to see if they have 2000 sq feet of something similar or nicer ASAP. And they should eat the cost.

Do you want the truth? You're bringing back fond memories of our restoration, where the vinyl tile for our laundry room got misplaced or mis-ordered not once, not twice, but three times...Fun fun!!

DrK is blaming the decorator and he is mighty grumpy with me too.

Oh construction, always budget 30% over and twice as long as estimated. And if you order cabinets, they will get lost and someone will claim that they’re stuck in a port, on a boat, or train a very long way away. 😂😂😂

We have new floors! Just in the rooms not impacted by the laundry renovation but it’s a start! It took half as long as expected and was relatively painless. It looks gorgeous. The laundry renovations are slated to begin Jan 21. Let’s hope that third time is a charm.
