I make treats when I have a craving - just a lot of subs that are healthier, and I justify it.

I'm back in the dieting saddle today. I have been eating reasonably, but not charting or weighing myself for the last three weeks. I'm a little scared to get on the scale - even though my clothing is still loose on me. (I'm at the point where I'll need to buy new jeans if I lose 5 more lbs. A good point, but deceptive because there's ROOM in them thar' jeans....)
I figure I'll journal on Lose It for the week and weigh myself on my usual schedule starting next week. (I weigh on Wednesdays and Sundays.)Angie

I've been having more cheat days as well. But I'm really liking the numbers on the scale. And I'm kinda starting to understand that Kate Moss quote "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels." I can think of lots of things....but only the first bite tastes that good anymore. It's kinda fun weighing what I weighed in high school.
But as soon as I stop actively counting calories I start to gain. Even knowing exactly how many calories everything I eat is....if I don't record it in LoseIt, I cheat. And I gain. I cannot be trusted on my own!!!Mom of 3, Veterinarian

Brace yourselves. I'm joining a gym here very soon. Then you'll never hear the end of it. I haven't worked out in months, loseit.com has dust, and my scale hasn't seen me since last spring. A brand new health club opened up right down the street with a yoga studio located inside. DH's going to crap himself that I'm paying for this, but I *need* this!Wife to PGY5. I have a confession. I rarely lose weight, regardless of my intake or output. I can CrossFit for hours and intake less than 1200 calories a day and that scale doesn't budge, my clothes fit no differently -- but I'm at least healthier, stronger, and feeling better.
A few months ago, DH decided he wanted to incorporate more paleo-type diet recipes into our repertoire, which is fine by me. I don't really care. We eat really healthy, anyway. We live in an amazing food area with lots of local organic farms, CSAs, and quality food is available for cheap everywhere. It's hippie food paradise.
After a few weeks of predominantly paleo eating, I had a sandwich. Holy balls, I felt like shit, but didn't put the two together until after a few more times of eating bread or pasta. Because I am slow. I finally realized that breads and pastas were making me bloated and feel like complete shit. After removing them COMPLETELY from my diet, I've dropped 5 pounds. I'm floored. I haven't dropped weight like that since right after I had DD2 13 fucking years ago. I didn't really eat a lot of bread or pasta, but completely eliminating it has been a total game changer for me. I feel amazing and it's so motivating to not only feel great, but to notice a difference in some metric, too.
I just can't believe that something so simple has made such a huge difference. I'm not allergic to wheat or even gluten intolerant/sensitive. For whatever reason, my body just doesn't process that type of carbohydrate well. How the hell did it take me almost 40 years to figure this shit out?!

That's me too, DD. I absolutely cannot eat any wheat... I also noticed a huge difference in fatigue problems once I cut sugar.
We just use agave, honey, or coconut sugar around here. It makes all the difference!
