I signed up for a 3 day a week boot camp. I hear it is crazy intense. Hoping I survive. Hopefully it will not be like the hot yoga with Barbie dolls in basically underwear surrounding me. Lol

Keep some ibuprofen handy, just in case. Oh, and wrap/brace/tape anything that needs to be protected.

I'm at that point where everyone is noticing my weight loss. It's kinda nice! Even the gym instructor pointed it out after class. I've lost about 15 pounds since I started working out in Nov/Dec...but I've also gained a lot of definition. With a tan, I'll look pretty darn good (if I do say so myself!).
I pinned some chocolate chip protein balls. And they aren't bad. Much better chilled than room temp!
Recipe:
1/3 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup honey
1 scoop protein powder (recipe says chocolate, I used vanilla)
3 TBSP flaxseed meal
3 TBSP chocolate chips (recipe said semi sweet, but I like milk chocolate - mini chips might be better though)
Mix it all together...roll into little balls. I made 12 balls and each ball is 100 calories and 4g of protein. It kinda sorta -if you aren't too picky- tastes like cookie dough. The flax adds a grainy texture though so don't expect smoothness.Mom of 3, Veterinarian

I've lost a few more pounds. I'm still walking. I was riding every day but, now both horses are home so I'm only riding a few days a week. I have been having a really hard time eating. Im chewing and chewing and chewing...and it gets me nowhere. I gag when I try to swallow my food. Some days Im ok. Most days I can't eat. I'm pretty happy w my weight. It's the flabby skin I hate. I feel like a deflated balloon. You know how a ballon looks all wrinkled and shriveled but it still has air? Yeah..that's me.~shacked up with an ob/gyn~

If u are everything thinking of doing a bootcamp, consider this...Do you enjoy almost puking and being damn near in tears from pain. If no, then run away from bootcamps
LOL
I will take hot yoga over this crap any day.

I am scared of bootcamps or crossfit classes - to me, they both scream potential injuries...IMHO. I have learned the difference between pain because you are working muscles and pain that is your body's way of saying something is not right. Many times just proper alignment can relieve the bad pain and you get more benefit out of the exercise. I just do not know how cross-fit/bootcamp type of instructors can have time to address alignment, etc. Maybe in a small class? However, the classes I've seen are always large. Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

CrossFit is all about good form and adjusting workouts (either up or down) for your ability. CF classes are typically small enough for the instructor to see EVERYONE.
I'm injury-prone as hell and have experienced far fewer injuries in CrossFit than anything else. You will sweat and you will be sore the next day, but it's because it's a effective and efficient workout. Not usually because of injuries.

DD, we did 50 burpees in a row today. I don't think anyone wants to stand next to me anymore during class. I'm a sweat flinger.

I've been running at night after the kids go to bed. For the most part it works pretty well. The block across the street from us used to be an elementary school, so it has just the one building on it with lots of open space. If I do laps around just that block I can see my house for at least half of the distance. At a moderate walk, a lap takes roughly 5 minutes. At my jogging pace it takes just under 4. (Yes, I am that slow.)
Tonight, I had settled it a pretty nice, comfortable rhythm and was nearing 1.75 miles when the front porch light came. That's Caleb's signal that he needs something. Turned out to be pretty minor, but I was so disappointed to cut the run short.
