Running class started today!
I went to bed at 1 am and woke up at 4:45. I am DYING.
But it was good! I kicked it up a notch and committed to doing the slowest running only group vs run/walk. We did 3.25 miles and I didn't dieMarried to a newly minted Pediatric Rad, momma to a sweet girl and a bunch of (mostly) cute boy monsters.

I avoid this thread because I suck at exercise. But I ran yesterday and today so maybe there's hope. Anyone want to text me Wednesday morning to tell me to get my butt up and run?

I've overall been pretty happy with my actual scale weight despite it being higher than I'd prefer. My BMI is around 24, normal, and I'm healthy, so I'm good. Except...I'm feeling squishy in the middle, and noticing some back fat where I didn't have it before, and I often feel kind of weighed down and heavy in my tummy after a day of snacking, especially when I get on a kick of melting cheese on everything. Plus my blood pressure is pretty borderline. So I wanted to make some changes and remembered how great I felt in late college when I was on a nutrition kick and following Dr. Weil religiously. I pulled his book back out, am cutting back on meat and dairy while stepping up the greens and whole grains, and I already feel a little better. Yay changes!Alison

I am officially within the normal BMI range for my height! Which is still probably overweight for my frame but whatever! I haven't seen this weight since I was 19 years old (sad, I know)!
Been doing pretty well exercise-wise. I ran/walked 5 miles on Monday in less than an hour (56 min) -- 3 of them in the first 30 min or so -- which is huge for me. It actually felt really good! I have also been everyday since (once I go today after work).
Bagels at work today and I managed to avoid them (well, I snagged two for DH's and my breakfast tomorrow: free day) but there was a beautiful spread of Murray's cheese, antipasta and sushi at work. Killer. Limited myself to dried fruit, some veggies and one of the stuffed grape leaves. There was a seriously beautiful blue that I desperately wanted though.
All in all, it's been a good week (which makes up for the disaster that was last week a little). Overall, I'm not moving at the pace I would like but the weight is still coming off and I'll be satisfied with slowly but surely! And let's be honest, I have definitely had my fair share of setbacks.

Fitness/Weightloss 2014

I lost weight the first time the year before I got married (55 lbs), then gained 34 lbs. of it back during our first year and a half of marriage (eek)!
But I will just count since I started this time...so 44 lbs over a year and a half, but I've done it much healthier this time (cutting down on sugar and refined foods, cooking at home, etc), but give myself a free day every week and vacations off. Plus exercising (much more so in the last 6 months). I still have weeks here or there that I totally screw up, but I'm trying to change my attitude toward food so I still eat what I love...or learn to cook and love new things!Last edited by Mrs. MD, Esq.; 05-31-2014, 06:41 AM.
