We finished in 2:39:27 with a pace of 12:10 min/mile. That was DH's best time (his third half marathon), and my first (so best by default ). I think we can easily beat that next time. DH hurt his knee around mile 10, so we walked most of the last few miles. But we did it, and I'm so proud of us!!

That's so great, LM. Congrats! I only just saw your "team" t-shirts, they are beyond cute! You have me inspired, I might go for the half after all at my August event. I keep waffling betweek 10k and 13.1. I have a date marked in my calendar for a month from now that says "T-12 weeks to race." I figure I have to decide by then in order to start a training program.
Got up and got out for a run early again today! I even tried for "my" Strava segment. (There are only a tiny handful of running segments in my geographical area, and this is the closest and one where first I took a course record -- against only one other guy, but STILL. I use it as a benchmark. It's about 1/2 mile at a 4% average grade.) I didn't think I could actually turn in a top time today, and sure enough I was 20 seconds off my previous winning time. But it's a good baseline for this "season" of running, and it's only 2 seconds slower than I ran it a year ago.
This time DH was up before I got back, which made me feel guilty, but he insists the kids didn't disturb him.Last edited by spotty_dog; 04-17-2016, 10:45 AM.Alison

I was down 3lbs last week! I really need to start exercising, but I haven't had time. E isn't super cooperative when I get her home, but I'm hoping once I finally get the piggyback board for the stroller she'll love that. I got excited when I remembered I had bought larger clothes when I was postpartum with E, but I tried them on yesterday and they're still a bit snug. Hopefully soon they'll fit though! I need to get down to a good size before my sister's wedding in August.

Good for you! My brother is also getting married in August, so I have goals too. Thank goodness I'm not a bridesmaid though! @scrubjay has a sibling getting married in August too.
As soon as I can get around to it, I'm importing my old run keeper workouts to Strava and ditching run keeper.
15k training class starts mid May, but DH is on IR and leaving too early in the morning for the first 2 weeks of class so I will have to do those workouts solo.
I'm like .8 lbs shy of the 20 lbs lost since I started mark. 1/3 way there! This is the part where it gets fun. The next 10 lbs are still baby weight from previous babies, but I'll fit into the rest of my clothes again. The. I can start buying new stuff! I cannot wait to be a medium again.
I started doing 10 min intervals on my shorter 3-4 mile runs. The other night I did 55 min, so 50 total minutes of running and I felt great at the end. The goal is to ditch the breaks eventually. That is HUGE for me! It helps to realize how far I've come when I get frustrated about where I am. In Dec running 3 min straight was a challenge

Strong work, both of you! ALOY, try to think about the long term. You're making permanent lifestyle changes, and your body is following suit. Every change you make, as long as it's permanent, is positive. So try not to fret that you aren't working out hardcore for like 2-3 hours a day! Walk a little more, eat some more veggies, stick with that and then make a new change.
ST, the thing that keeps me running is seeing those signs of progress. My run yesterday, I tried to keep at an "easy" intensity, but I ended up running faster than I'd done on my harder runs even a week before! Onward and upward.
I'm going to try for a long run today, if I can squeeze it in between the orthodontist and karate class. Still trying to build my base slowly, so I'm just going to make my long run 10% longer than my last one.Alison

I've had no time to lift and no motivation to stick to my macros. I have a 5K tomorrow and haven't run in weeks. I'm thankful my overall fitness level is good and I know I can run it without stopping. But it feels crappy to have lost steam. I'm sure it'll come back soon. But in the meantime, I wanted to let you know I struggle with motivation too....it's not all good progress pics 'round here!Mom of 3, Veterinarian

Especially once summer comes around I'm sure you'll be back at it. I've been totally swamped this week. Those concerts I'm organizing are this weekend so all my time is filled with extra rehearsals and admin work. Plus, I think end of the semester I'm just tired. I went to bed at 830 last night and pretty much slept until 7am. This morning I have time to either prepare for a rehearsal or go to the gym. Practice it is since the performance is tomorrow.

I ran 3 miles with DH this morning. (He's on nights this weekend.) I've done weights a couple times this week. Gearing up for a mud run next! I'm thinking of hiring a trainer. It would be one 30 minute session per week, but she said she could give me a plan for the rest of the week.Laurie
