I'd consider this one. The book is HEAVY, and shipping is expensive elsewhere. This will be $29 total media mail. It'll take a while to get to you, but in the meantime, I've posted the walnut soup.

This one gives you Bouchon too. $100 book for less than half that.

This one would be 31.50, and would probably get to you faster.

You can still check it out from the library if you will want to back out! Oh, and I guess you can always resell it.

      Re: The French Laundry

I'm just trying to manage my cookbook addiction, that's all. This one wasn't at the top of my list, due mostly to the effort involved, but I will bump it up to play.

Thanks for the links -- I'm going to bid on the FN/Bouchon and if I don't get it, I'll do the half.

The book is $50 at Borders. Today I went with my 30% off coupon and when I got to the checkout I had left the coupon at home. I'll go back tomorrow.

It didn't even occur to me!!!!!!! It is on my way to work tomorrow, but it was a waste of a trip today and I was so excited.

I am sorry about your wasted trip.

Mine is on it's way from Amazon. I'm getting psyched and checking out sales from Sur La Table and Williams Sonoma just to make myself drool.

I really didn't have time as I was on my way to get a haircut. Can't wait til tomorrow. Jenn, I have also been cruising the Wiliams Sonoma site. I'm going to invest in a really nice set of knives. I have been looking at them. My daughter has a nice set of Wusthoff (courtesy of me as a wedding gift). I decided that my duaghter should not have better knives than me so I'm looking for the perfect set for me. How is that for adult behavior!!!! Jory said go for it, because cooking really is my only hobby.

I missed the end of the auction. The Bouchon books looks great too. Soon it will be mine! bwahahaha

I want the knives that Alison got from her parents. *drool* I can never remember if I have Henckels or Wusthof but they are great knives. Happy slicing and dicing, Luanne!

ETA: I just ordered it and it is on the way. :wee:

I have THE BOOK and it is really nice. I'm headed home soon and hope to spend the rest of the evening looking at it. They wouldn't let me cancel my patients  so I still haven't done more than glance at it.
