What did I do today? Fought off a heart attack while watching the 49ers lose to my Seahawks.

Today DrBtobe and I slept in, spent an hour cuddling and chatting, did laundry, made a bunch of calls, he worked on research, we went to bikram class, he locked us out of the house so we had to break back in, went grocery shopping, made dinner, knitted, and worked on wedding projects. WHEW! I'm pooped!wife of a PGY-2 anesthesiology resident & mother of one adorable baby girl

We both have a day off today so DF spent some time in the garden while I spent too much time in my pyjamas watching soaps and looking at the internet, oops! We then went for a walk and a couple of drinks at a local bar which we love and haven't been to for a while. Now waiting for dinner to cook and reading.

I baked some bread rolls for dinner tonight (making home made lentil burgers). I changed the bed sheets, Skyped with a friend about her visit in May, tried to scrub a huge dirty mark off the hall wall from DF's bike but failed, it's still there , put some paper work away and now I'm going to work.

I need to start cooking again too. We've been eating out with extraordinary frequency lately. I've been feeling so overextended with DH's hours, my school, kids' school, eh, you get the idea. I think I make dinner once a week. *shame* (in my defense, DH is never home anymore)
Today, though, we had Zuppa Toscana that I found through Pinterest. It was so good! Really easy, too. I need to get back to making mass quantities of soups and freezing them.

Today I went to the local food store. When I say local food, I mean LOCAL. I think they have a produced within 100 miles rule. It was heavenly to browse there without kids, because they have increased their selection so much since I was last in there! You could almost do all your grocery shopping there, if you were willing to pay the premium for food raised in small batches by people you might bump in to in town. I got some ground lamb and some sausage, some collards and leeks and spaghetti squash. Tonight I cooked the spaghetti squash and sausage and tossed them together with some onion and garlic. I ate a huge bowl full, along with some roasted brussels sprouts, and am now in FOOD COMA. The collards, leeks, and hot Italian sausage are earmarked for portuguese kale soup in the next week or so.Alison

Spent a hour and a half on the phone to my car insurance company... grooooooan... for them to tell me I would have to call back tomorrow...
Did some college work.
Ironed some shirts for DF.
Cleaned the kitchen.
Took some bags of garden waste to the tip.
Read.
Went to the supermarket.
Booked some flights for the summer (then spent far too long looking at holiday photos from last year, reminiscing and feeling excited for the summer!)
