That England game this morning was a heartbreaker. We ended up going to early service at church, rather than late service, due to the 3rd goal by Germany.
Just got back, and are now enjoying the beginning of Argentina/Mexico. Who the heck knows who's going to win at this point? Sheesh.

Well played, Germany, well played. I'm rooting for Ghana v Germany in the semifinals. The kids says Germany is taking the cup this year.

Well, the 'hood is thrilled at the Germany win and sad about Mexico (remember, my neighborhood was settled by Germans and Mexicans) so it looks like we'll all be at the Beethoven for the next Germany match.

I'm going to do a four day detox this week and I'm NOT kidding.

I'm so conflicted about this game. My mom was born in Holland. I have a ton of family there. But I lived in Brazil in college. I want them both to win!

My sister told me I had to watch the Spain-Portugal game because it would be the most *ahem* attractive game in World Cup play.

My mom is currently sending me harrassing text messages asking how I could even consider rooting for Brazil.

Somehow I don't think that the "greatest weekend ever EVER" includes much detoxing!

                      I'm happy for Oranje!

Did anyone watch the nail-biter match, Ghana vs. Uruguay? Or am I the only one home all day with a snoozing baby.

Holy moly, I was watching at work. I was supposed to be working on something in another room, and I kept running back out to the tv. Unbelievable.

I think I'm going to head to the Dutch shop before the next Oranje game and bring some stroopwaffels for the occasion.

Talk about crazy!! It was Ghana's game to win, and then that crazy series of events. And it all started with that hand ball...

I know!! DH and I discussed at great length whether or not that was a purposeful handball. I think it may have been!! I mean, it was quite a sacrifice (as Suarez is one of their valuable forwards), but they would have lost...and because of that - they move on!!! I'd say that Ghana was robbed, but honestly - the ref made a good call and gave them a fair chance to score. I think the move was gutsy, but I'm not sure how Uruguay is going to do without Suarez, it may cost them the next match.

                              But wow, what a game!!

I was listening to espn radio and it was soooo painful.

I'm sad Ghana didn't win, though.

The best weekend ever, EVER is actually going to be somewhat circumspect. or at least that's the plan at this point in time.
