Today we bought a house! Fun fact: When we sold our old house, we had to bring several thousand to closing. When we bought this house, we got a check for several thousand dollars. Seems a little backwards! (Explanation: Our sellers wanted $3000 earnest money, but they agreed to pay all our closing costs, so we got that back, and we got a check for the weeks they'll be doing a leaseback.) So excited! We're moving in the weekend of June 15!!!

Today, I bought an reclaimed barn wood bench for our front porch. Yes, I know we are moving in 4 months but it was $20 and I cannot turn off the impulse to look for a front porch bench since I've been looking for almost two years. Tomorrow, I'm planting a flower garden with the K Bros. Hope I don't regret that one. Figured that the boys like digging in the dirt and watering plants twice daily will keep them occupied.Wife and #1 Fan of Attending Adult & Geriatric Psychiatrist.

I still haven't set up our wifi cam to work with our iPhones. I have to call the help desk to walk me through setting up a DNS server or something like that and that reminds me too much of workMarried to a newly minted Pediatric Rad, momma to a sweet girl and a bunch of (mostly) cute boy monsters.

It's not ambition. It's survival. If I don't keep them busy, they destroy the house and batter each other. So far, we've got half a flower bed cleared of mulch. I could probably stretch this out for a good two weeks.
ETA: Today, the boys let us "sleep in" until 6AM. I had to force them out of the house by 7:30 to keep the damage to a minimum. We went to Home Depot, bought potting soil, shovels, seeds, came home and dug up half the flower bed (I don't think we'll ever get all the mulch out), went to a 9:30 play group, had a snack, bought watering cans, pails, and spray bottles at the dollar store, had lunch at Applebees, and now they are waking from a nap. I'm pretty sure the seeds we planted this morning have become bird food by now. The kids are waking from their nap now and I am *so* tired. DrK will be home in about 8 hours. . . I hope. This has been going on since Friday since DrK worked the weekend and the school is closed until tomorrow.Last edited by MrsK; 05-28-2013, 03:34 PM.Wife and #1 Fan of Attending Adult & Geriatric Psychiatrist.
