        • Oh, Laurie. I'm so sorry.

Today, I think I finally have to admit that I *am* as sick as I was with K1. I haven't been able to keep anything down for about three days and I've been sick every time I walk past the kitchen sink. I cannot prepare meals or run errands. I can barely wash a load of laundry and housekeeping chores that used to take me 10 minutes, take me all afternoon. This morning, I was picking up the boys' blocks and cars for the 16,000th time and I was thinking that I should just get rid of all their small toys so I don't have to deal with them. Yeah, I'm that cranky. This morning, DrK very cautiously suggested we set up a weekly house-cleaner; he was afraid I'd punch him. I hate to spend the money! Especially when we are so close to the end of residency and I know we have so many expenses ahead of us in the next few months. He's saying that it's just a couple months and he's hoping I'll be better in the second trimester. Given my past experience, I'm not so sure.

The roofers are back today. They are stomping around on the roof and throwing debris all over the place. K2 saw their truck in our driveway and said, "Oh, Sh!t!" I suspect he thinks that's what their truck is called. I didn't correct him. He keeps yelling at them to be quiet. I'm going to have to get out of here today but I just cannot muster up the strength to get out of the house.

          • oh MrsK, this is the perfect time to spend the money on a house cleaner and extra time in school for the boys if you can swing it. Let other people take care of you for a change.

Yes, exactly. Your sanity is worth it. I hope DrK is right and you'll start feeling better soon!

                  • ITA with the others MrsK. Yes, I know that there are tons of things with the upcoming move that you will need to budget. However, if paying for housecleaning, at this point, will help you feel better - I say go for it. You will be in a better place when it is time for the move.

Today, I am so sleepy. I am frustrated because I took an ambien and went to bed at 8:30 in preparation of a crazy, busy week. Now, I am dragging.

                      • Thanks for the sympathy. I managed to go to the grocery this morning. Actually, the roofers forced me out. I bought a bunch of prepared food. Even prepared salads and sandwiches. I got most of the shopping done before K2 stopped cooperating and I began feeling sick. I made a beeline for check out and then I threw up in the parking lot. We are home now. I've put away most of the groceries and the roofers are making such a racket that I can hear the dishes rattling in our kitchen cabinets. I just cannot stay away from here all day so I'm going to have to just try to ignore the noise. It's 10AM and I've already hit my limit for today. I hope K2 naps.

                        • Today I'm pretty disappointed to be back at work after a really wonderful holiday weekend. DH and I went hiking on Thursday, then grilled and watched fireworks with friends. We also decided to take up tennis - I hadn't played since lessons in elementary school, and DH hadn't played since college - so we bought new rackets and practiced a little bit. We are totally hooked, and played on Friday and Saturday, and are taking a lesson next weekend. And, holy OUCH! It works muscles I haven't used in a while. Grilled again Friday, and on Saturday went out to a way too expensive and nice dinner at a restaurant we'd been wanting to try. We should've waited until next weekend for our anniversary, but oh well. Went for a run yesterday, then made fresh pesto with garlic scapes from the farmers market and basil from our deck. I also read 2 books and started a third. Sigh, back to the real world!

                          • A photographer's group I'm part of on Facebook is a never ending source of entertainment. One lady posted that a lady contacted her about doing boudoirs. No biggie. Then asked if it would be okay if her 21 year old son could be there. Weirder. Then mentioned since the dad died he is the "man of the house" and she thinks of him as much more than a son. Into the creepy zone. The photographer couldn't figure out if it was a hoax or a really messed up family.
