I had another mole removed today - hopefully this one is benign too! It's the 4th I've had taken off so far, and thankfully the first 3 were all benign. I have a ton more, but the dermatologist thinks they're probably fine, she just said I make weird looking moles.Allison - professor; wife to a urology attending; mom to baby girl E (11/13), baby boy C (2/16), and a spoiled cat; knitter and hoarder of yarn; photographer

Today a friend took me to a belated birthday lunch and gave me a lovely bag with personalized office supplies to make my home office look all cute! Then gave me a Big bag of Valentines Day gifts for DD and 4-5 children books for her. Just such a thoughtful thing to do for someone I just met a few months ago. There's still is good people in the world.Wife to PGY5. Mommy to baby girl born 11/2009. Cat mommy since 2002

You have some tough competition for worst skin ever. I had a mole removed from under my nail when I was a few weeks postpartum. Nail biopsies suck, and I couldn't use my thumb for a week. Even now my nail looks jacked up, all thanks to that damn mole.
Worst skin ever!

I'm thinking of my aunt today. It's the 1-year anniversary of her death that shocked and stunned and destroyed us all. I want to call my dad but I get nervous about mentioning her to him because it's still very, very raw for both him and his other sister. It's a bittersweet day, and I'm a little down. I will be raising a glass of wine in her honor today, because I know she'd definitely give that the thumbs up.Wife, support system, and partner-in-crime to PGY-3 (IM) and spoiler of our 11 y/o yellow lab

I recently purchased this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 which totally looks and feels like something from the "As Seen On TV" product line. But holy cow, my skin is softer than it has ever been. Ever. Since babyhood. I flove it.Kris

And I use this soap because I am acne prone... Nothing like wrinkles and acne to boost one's self esteem. notyourmothersapron.com/product/tea-tree-oil/
And, really, it isn't a pitch for our products specifically, but rather, moving away from detergent based soap and lotions with synthetic fragrances and certain kinds of preservatives. Hand-made soap also contains glycerin, which is a humectant. This is removed by the manufacturers of commercial soaps for use in other products and it makes the soap more drying to the skin.
I've really come to believe that my specific skin issues are related to the number of chemicals I was putting on it. For a facial moisturizer, I am using a combination of her toner and serum and it is the first winter in years that I haven't gotten dry flaky patches that need to be treated with topical steroids. And it is one of the driest and coldest winters on record. She specially formulated some for me that include willow bark extract because it contains salicylic acid and my acne is so much better.
(And, I realize I sound like an infomercial - sorry!)
Again - not really intended to be a pitch for our stuff, but to really be aware of what you are putting on your skin and the reactions it can be causing.Kris
