  • Hugs, 13! So glad he was fine. HoW, those are awesome curtains!

Today I'm going to try to get DD into the pediatrician. I'm hoping this is as good as my last one about having same-day appointments. She's had a low fever for over 24 hours, and I want to rule out strep and ear infection. Poor baby!

      • HOW- awesome job on the curtains! Very girly and cute.

Today I'm still getting over being sick.

Today I made the second batch of pumpkin muffins. Still have some pumpkin left so thinking about pumpkin bread with chocolate chips.

        • Today, I took two toddlers to a parents as teachers class and to story time at the library. (Totally exhausted K2.)

Today, I think K1 may be having a relapse from the horrible cold he had last week. He's hot and grossy again.

Today, the K Bros have taken an extra long nap.

            • Today was a good day!

Today my bil and his partner left after visiting us for a few days. They were wonderful to dd and perfect uncles.

Today we hung out as a family after dd's cardiologist appointment.

Today, it's raining and I'm wearing flannel pjs, drinking tea. Life is good.

                • Today, was K1's class trip. Or rather, the trip for all three 2yo classes at his school. I chaperoned. Three dozen 2yos in a botanical garden with roughly 15 chaperones. It was fun and I got to know some of the other families better and it was a fun date for K1 and I.

                  • Today DD is 2 months old

Today I haven't made it out of my jammies. Baby has her first cold and is only happy being held.

Today I am thankful it is fall break so I only have to drive dd10 to dance (and yes, it might be in my jammies ).

Today DH's boss had three extra tickets to the Titans game so he will get to take the boys tonight. The are going to have such a fun time!

                      • Today, K1 convinced me to have a surprise birthday dinner for daddy tonight. Daddy's birthday is Friday but he'll be away Friday and Sat and working late tomorrow so, yes, he will be very surprised.

Today, I took the boys to the library and grocery store, baked a cake, I'm using Heidi's slow cooker rib recipe to make beef ribs and I'm making DrK's favorite acorn squash (although K1 has reminded me no less than seven times that he prefers strawberries and grilled cheese for dinner), made gifts and decorations with the kids, wrapped gifts, and the usual household stuff including an inordinate amount of laundry.

                        Today, mommy is exhausted.

                        • Today, the 12-year-old I help homeschool and I were going to go to my house and try baking granola bars for the first time, but we couldn't, because we wasted 45 minutes trying to get his stupid rabbit back in her cage.

Today, I'm going to write my first letter to Maritza, a 12-year-old girl in Bolivia, whom I just signed up to sponsor through Plan. I'm excited!! I don't know anything about Bolivia, so I have a lot to learn. I was inspired to sponsor a girl after SO and I watched "Half the Sky," a documentary showing the horrors of child slavery and sex trafficking. Sponsoring a child = keeping a child in school (hopefully), and away from slavery and abuse.

                          • Today, I love my WAH job because I took 15 minutes out of my day to do a quick project that has been irking me to no end. Last time the kids were with their dad I picked up a vintage milk glass lamp for 4 bucks, but it needed some TLC (namely rewiring, a new harp, spray painting the non-glass parts). I had the pieces painted and today I assembled the lamp.

Even better is the fact that I found a vintage side table for $10 at thrift store. The top is shot on it, but sanding and a couple of coats of paint and it will be awesome. Even more so because it matches the pair of chairs that I got this summer.

Half of my living room looks like it came straight from a mid-century mod catalog.

                            Pic to come.
