LOL! I'm glad you shared! Should be fun for the senior residents and attendings to break them in. Part of me wonders if they'll cater to them just a little bit, though. They didn't get to residency like that by being told no to as often as we would expect...Laurie

Unfortunately, some of their needs have been addressed, which totally effs up the senior residents which totally pisses me off. Our residency coordinator (who has been doing this forever) said that this is the most obnoxious incoming class ever. What incoming intern has the balls to bitch about rotation schedules?!? Apparently 70% of this class.I'm just trying to make it out alive!

Yep, and that's why they keep asking, and will into attendinghood...
ETA - I'm not against programs trying to become more family friendly, but I am against people demanding special treatment that inconvenience senior employees/residents. The entitlement is my issue, not the asking exactly, but you have to know that by asking off for major holidays, it will mean others have to work in your place.Laurie

Yesterday, I accepted a tenured lectureship position at one of the two universities here in town. As both universities were interested in my services, I was able to negotiate favorable financial terms, which was quite satisfying.
