  • Yes. He's insisting in coming back early and I hope that isn't a problem. As much as I'd like to have him home, I really think he should stay. I had our sitter come this morning to dress the boys. I couldn't stand up. I was shaking, hyperventalating, vomiting, incoherent with pins and needles in my limbs. And, of course, having a severe headache which still has not subsided. K1 kept bring me a mirror and saying, "See mommy. This is what you look like when you are sick." After dressing the boys, the sitter droped them at school and me at the ED. She still has my car so she'll have to pick everyone up on her way home from work.

      • Holy crap, MrsK, that had to be terrifying!! I'm glad you're feeling (slightly) better. How awful. Do they know what triggered it so you can avoid it in the future?

        • Holy crap MrsK, how awful! I'm glad you're feeling a bit better now but what a miserable experience! Have you ever had one like that before?

          • Holy crap, that sounds so scary! Has the headache subsided a little now? And I hope that never happens again!

            • Medicating cats is one of the unnamed wonders of the world! It'd be far easier for you to give her a subcutaneous injection daily!!!

Hmmm....I wonder if that's an option.....

              • I've has complex migraines in the past but very infrequently. They started about 10 years ago where I'd have vision disturbances at work. We didn't know it was migraine until I tried birth control pills about 6 years ago and landed in the ER with stroke like symptoms. (It was awful. My boss was yelling at me and I began throwing up in mt waste basket. He was frantic.) Since then, I've managed thee migraines well having had my last major episode when I was pregnant with K1. I was unable to take anything to stop it while pregnant and it got so bad that I couldn't find my car. I was trying to ask for help but kept saying "painface"instead of headache. It's like a short circuit between your brain and your muscles: this is why they now think migraines are neurological instead of circulatory. After the incident I had during my pregnancy, my OB and neurologist agreed I could take something to head off infrequent migraines because the symptopms were scarier than the meds. I actually haven't had a serious migraine since I stopped working. (Triggers are usually stress, hunger, excessive light or noise. When I worked, it was nearly always stress.) This time, the symptoms all hit so fast that I was on the floor before I knew what happened. Usually, I see an aura or my fingers tingle first so I can take something before it gets too bad. This was everything at once.

                    • Today (finally feeling like myself again, BTW), I spent the day with K2 (20mo) who completely amazed me again with his verbal abilities. He named his toy monkey doll; he gave it OUR LAST NAME. I didn't know that he knew our last name. He's never even said his first name before. When I ask him his name, he usually says K1's name. But he knows our last name and told K1 all about it when we picked him up from school today.

                              • Today I took photos of 17 dogs, 10 of which were puppies! Good lord it's hard to get a puppy's attention. I started to loose my voice from all the ridiculous noises I had to make to get them to look at me.
