Today my husband got an ultrasound of his kidney. For fun. He also brought home a cathether, because he wants to see what it feels like. Do all residents do this, just urology residents, or just my husband??Allison - professor; wife to a urology attending; mom to baby girl E (11/13), baby boy C (2/16), and a spoiled cat; knitter and hoarder of yarn; photographer

Apparently several of the other residents have gotten ultrasounds too. They just want to make sure they don't have any stones or anything. I think he was feeling left out with all of my ultrasounds.Allison - professor; wife to a urology attending; mom to baby girl E (11/13), baby boy C (2/16), and a spoiled cat; knitter and hoarder of yarn; photographer

US is now being integrated into the MS1 to fellows curriculum. Our institution has US machines strictly for ed purposes. People love to US themselves. I am ok with it as long as they are not pregnant and trying to check out their baby.
Now the cath thing is another story. The risk for infection alone would be discouragement enough. Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

Today I interviewed for a job at a financial institution for a Project Manager job. Well, at least that is what the recruiter told me. Imagine my surprise when it was an interview for the CTO. Which would have been fine, if I hadn't talked with three people in the company thinking it was for a PM job. arrrrrrrrrrghhhhhh

Today I got us on a second daycare waiting list. I put off visiting a second because I thought our chances were better with the work daycare. Now I'm really regretting that, because I LOVED this other place. It's not as close to my primary office, but it's closer to the office I work at a day a week, and closer to home. And it's cheaper. I still don't know if we'll get either, but hopefully something will work out.Allison - professor; wife to a urology attending; mom to baby girl E (11/13), baby boy C (2/16), and a spoiled cat; knitter and hoarder of yarn; photographer
