Twelve interviews in all and I was being asked open-ended questions about why I was more qualified for the job than other candidates while not really knowing what the job was exactly or whether I was qualified for it at all. Amazing exercise in improvisation and bullshit. It would have been nice to have a head's up and job descriptions before I arrived.
The thought of this makes my stomach coil in anxiety. Impressive that you sailed through!

It wasn't too bad. Not knowing what the job was sort of took some of the pressure off in a way because I didn't know whether I really wanted the job anyway. I sort of look at job interviews like first dates. Sure, you don't want to make a jackss of yourself but you know that it might not be a good fit. Not everyone is going to like you, invite you on a second date, or offer you a job and that's okay. . . perhaps that's why I didn't marry until I was 33.

      • I was surprised at how much I liked the 2nd, and even though the 1st is closer to work and I could walk over and breastfeed on days that I'm in that office, something about the 2nd made me more comfortable. I just wish I had gotten on that list sooner. If it's only a month or so after I go back until we get in, my mom would watch her, but I can't count on that long term.

Finally, a video that gives me a shot in hell at understanding chemistry I think I have a dog-obsession problem.

              Hope you're feeling better!

              • Sandy, I hope you are feeling better today. I'm sick too, but I'm just whining about a cold!

Today, I took my first Chemistry exam in, what, 16 years? Still hate Chemistry. I don't know how I did, but I think I did okay.

Today, I'm running around. I've got to study like crazy for a Microbiology test tomorrow. There's swim for Lexi, bowling for Ryan, I had a doctor appointment, cancelled the kids pediatrician appointment, Open House at Lexi's school. Ugh.

I drove through Panera today and got their Autumn Squash Soup. I highly recommend it. It was yummy. 330 calories. Not too bad.

                • I'm doing OK. My entire abdomen aches like a mofo from the coughing, and there's one spot in particular I honestly think is pulled. If I'm in just the wrong position when I have to cough, sharp pain in the lower left area. Owie. Luckily, I'm still not coughing constantly or anything, but it's enough to be painful. I'm taking it easy and resting.

A friend linked that on Facebook today and my DD and I loved it! It gives me motivation to keep plugging away at Penrose's "Road to Reality", which I have recently decided to re-re-tackle. By the end of the book I intend to fully understand the video or die trying.

                    • Today I'm leaving for a weekend retreat with the ladies at our new church. I hate retreats, but this seemed like a good opportunity to get to know everybody better. I've got a bag loaded up with GDM-friendly snacks to help me survive, plus lots of knitting for the down time when others will be doing more of the fun outdoor activities.

                      • Today...

I'm hoping this cold I caught goes away sooner rather than later.
I'm looking forward to booking our florist and baker tomorrow.
I'm nervous about SO beginning a new rotation on Monday.

                        • Today is my birthday. And DrK's last day of residency. The K Bros are at school. I got my hair cut and nails done. Now I'm indulging at my favorite local chocolate shop (which will probably make me sick) but at least I'm not home doing chores.
