I also voted for a 3rd party candidate and I am not sorry. I could not in good conscience vote for either of them. As I mentioned in a previous post, I believe that he will be gone within a year. ( As I believe Clinton would have been gone as well.) He will be removed from office. That said, Trump scared me more than Hillary and I did think Hillary would win. He is a despicable human being which is why I didn't vote for him. Look at the fruit of his life, he is no more Christian than Hitler. I have no confidence in him picking a good Supreme Court nominee which seemed to be the rationale behind many people voting for him.

In our state, a third party was just as likely to win as Clinton, so I don't regret my third party vote either. I agree with you on the Supreme Court appointments. With as many open lawsuits as he has, I think any appointment could be considered a conflict of interest. And if he's slapped with a Democratic congress in two years, which I consider likely, I don't think he'll be allowed to make any other appointments.Laurie

Voting in this election was probably one of the most gut-wrenching things I have ever done. There are multiple layers to peoples' decisions. People on FB feed voted against Trump's horrible character, for their daughters, for women, for economic reasons, against a liar, for party affiliation, against racism, sexism and misogyny, against a rapist and against criminal behavior. Some voted for the lesser of two evils. IMHO, there weren't any candidates that that I wanted to see as POTUS. Whatever helped people make the decision for one candidate over another doesnt mean they want to accept or overlook the shortcomings of the opponent. I agonized over my decision all the way to the ballot. I cried afterward which I have never done in a situation like this. I wasn't happy with the outcome because I didn't want any candidate to win and I am scared for the future. I would have been no matter the outcome. I am sad and trying to make sense of it all.

I am flabbergasted that he won....still can't wrap my head around it. I think he is a despicable human being and I can't imagine a reality where I would be able to ignore all of the bad for the few things I might agree with. I could not in good conscience vote for Hillary, either, but I assumed she would win. I knew Trump would win in my state (I thought it might be one of the few places he would win), so I voted for Johnson. I wouldn't change anything about my vote. I am disheartened about the results of this election, both at the national and the state levels. I kind of feel like a stranger in my own community, and I know that is *nothing* compared to the feelings of many in our country. I am hoping that those who voted for him voted for "change" more than for "hate", and that the gravity of the office will somehow change Trump for the better.

I'm shocked. I voted for her, quietly and without public fanfare, four weeks ago. I wasn't in love with her by any stretch, but she certainly met most of the criteria. I certainly wasn't in love with another one of the political power house families going into office, but it beat the alternative. I went to bed early on election night assuming I'd never be shocked.
The majority of my family (and apparently many of my friends who are now admitting it) voted for Trump. People who I cherish and adore who happen to disagree with my views. I'm *completely* o.k. with divergent views and understand that many conservatives feel that they do not have a true home so they voted for him instead of Clinton.
With all this being said, I can't explain it. I can't believe that he was supported by devout *Christians*. I'm fairly certain I understand the faith a bit differently. I'll stop here because my passions run high on this and I want all thoughts to be fairly honored here. My eyes are opened. I'm truly contemplating whether my WASP-y silence is the way to go anymore. I'm fairly private IRL and generally do not discuss much outside of the closest of friends. I'm definitely rethinking this.
I'm not o.k. with MANY of the things stated in this election by multiple individuals. I can't believe the political discourse in this election started with inferences to penis size. WTF? It only deteriorated from there. In my dreams I run with the Kenyans.

I'm really saddened by the outcome. It just proves that a vote against her WAS a vote for him.Luanne

His putting psychopaths in the cabinet positions is the scary part for me. But we lasted through Dick Cheney and John Ashcroft and even Sununu, and this too shall pass. I supposed Chris Christie will be something in Transportation, so he can deal with traffic jams on the bridges?Enabler of DW and 5 kids
