Makes perfect sense. Keeping all body parts crossed that this is the case.

DH has relatives in Wilmington, NC, including one who is in hospice at home. We're pretty concerned for them, and MIL is pretty upset, but I keep reminding DH (and hopefully he will remind her) that they are super used to hurricanes down there, so I'm sure that those family members have already made the proper arrangements for safety and comfort. I feel badly though that the hurricane is adding to their emotional duress at an already difficult time.

I spoke to my dad tonight, who seems incredibly blase about the whole situation, despite the fact that they live further east of us and very close to some of the evacuated counties. Doesn't seem like they will be taking any additional precautions; I hope he re-thinks that decision in the next 48 hours.

Eh...I'm just a meteorology wannabe...you have the actual degree! I've figured out what the good sources are, what's legit & what is hype, and know the basics, but I cant look at the data and truly forecast. I can just intelligently interpret the garbledy gook the experts put out there!

So how long do you think it will take before Geraldo ties himself to a palm tree to cover this storm?

stay safe... And I hope you had a chance to get ice for power outages if that's a problem in your area. Basically if lines aren't buried it will be a problem.

I'm looking forward to watching Jim Cantore get hit by something. He's had too many close calls. Apparently he is a perverted ass too--a friend met him and he hit on her hard core. He's at least 15 years older than her.

ST, from what I've heard the wind shouldn't be that bad here in the inner part of Maryland. Thats the aside of the hurricane that's not too bad I guess? We went through Isabel right when we moved here and the storm was not bad, but the power outs afterward! Good lord! We lost so much food and dh was in line for 4 hours for dry ice... So we will prepare by filling our coolers with ice bc that sells out right away. For Isabel there was no ice to be had in a 4 state radius!!

Sucks. But not much you can do really.
Yeah, my parents lost power in Annapolis for 7 days from Isabel. Definitely prep for the power outtages!
