  • I imagine the DPS conversation going something like this: "Well, we haven't had a snow day yet this year, so we might as well use one. The kids will be happy."

I would've been happy if my office closed, abundance of snow or not (and it WAS a really icy drive this morning), but it did not.

    • Sunny and in the 60s around here. Living on this side of the mountains doesn't suck.

We occasionally get some snow in April, but it isn't much. I can see it on the higher hilltops surrounding us, but we don't get much at the house.

      • Wow, now it is a full fledged thunder storm with thunder and lightening.

        • I really miss thunderstorms. It rains a lot here but we rarely see a good thunderstorm. The forecast for today calls for sunny with a high of 61 then tomorrow it 100% rain and it will rain through the rest of the week into the weekend. Spring has already come and most of the blooms have begun to die off. Still spring weather here with all the showers though.

          • Third straight day of rain. While we are still in a drought, I had hoped that all on the missing rain wouldn't come at the same time.

            • Still 60s and sunny. Occasional showers, but not bad. Spring is definitely here. Daffodils bloomed and my trees are budding. Hell, my magnolia has already bloomed once.

I'm feeling a bit stabby myself.

Come visit. The weather is perfect! I don't have a guest room, but my mom has three to choose from and will cook for you.

I challenge that with a 10 minute drive to several or a 40 minute drive to Grapevine. It lives up to its name.
