  • Ugh. Luke's graduation open house is Saturday and there is an 80% chance of thunderstorms. We were going to have tents/tables and a bounce house (Luke's request!) in the back yard. I had all the logistics figured out, but now we will be putting all the tables in the basement and most likely won't have the bounce house. Trying to be thankful that we have a big basement and a workable plan B.......

      • We apparently are in monsoon season. I had to mow my yard in the frickin' rain. My neighbor is having a party tomorrow and I don't want to be the hillbilly neighbor that has foot tall grass that has seed heads.

        • Holy carp another 2" of rain yesterday which brings the total since Friday morning to 7.5". Now, when it DOESN'T rain, my poor yard dies because it has gotten used to a stupid amount of rain.

Monsoon season always killed me because it was 120F and fucking raining. Humidity and heat = no es bueno.

                          • It's not the first time my van said it was 100 this year. It's humid too though getting better. I don't mind dry heat. I don't mind our current hot and humid, but I can't run in it.

I'm pretty sure 117 + humid would turn me into a hermit.

Agreed! DH and I were joking the other day about how this is the farthest south either of us have ever lived... This week we had 96 and humid, and that was gross enough for us to put in the window ACs. That was followed by some severe thunderstorms, and now we're back down to a tolerable temperature. It's supposed to keep raining all week.
