        • This morning I told DH I have never been happier that there wasn't a job for him at his training institution, holy crap I've never seen a winter like this in MN!

              • We were surprised by about 10 inches yesterday. Today, we have high winds with blowing and drifting snow creating headaches. Schools were actually cancelled today. We never cancel.

                • It is 50 degrees outside with dense fog created by the 6+ inches of snow still on the ground. And we are under a tornado watch. This is so weird.

Here it was a gorgeous, bright, sunny day today. It was a nice break from the week and a half of raining straight.

                    • Thanks. We were fine. I always think they overreact on posting tornado watches here. It's rare that storms get that crazy, especially in February.

                      • I just got a weather alert on my phone because it's going to be in the 30s today. You know you're in Texas when… *snicker*

                        • Freezing. High in the 20s. Average for this time of year is in the 40s. Mom is visiting from SoFL this weekend and she won't bring appropriate clothing. She'll be miserable and since it's her first visit, she'll think it's always like this.

                          • Why couldn't it by the mother IN LAW? Do you have things your mom can borrow to keep warm? Hopefully she'll be distracted by the beautiful new granddaughter and won't mind the weather at all.

MILK is coming within 24 hours of my mom's departure. She won't mind the cold because she lives in the northeast most of the year.

My mom is a large woman and I'm petite. I can loan her a scarf but that's it. I don't even have extra gloves for her. She thinks that if she wears socks with open toed shoes and a super soft fleece, she's dressed warmly. Although she grew up in Chicago, after 40 years in SoFL, she now mistakes soft or fuzzy for warm. I hope I'll get her to buy a coat while she's here.

                              • Crazy snow - white out like, which isn't normal here. Generally we just have a slow trickle of flurries for hours. I wasn't even expecting snow today. Weird and annoying!!!
