Originally posted by Liisi View PostMrsK, that all sounds delicious!! Twice a week, I help homeschool my friend's 12-year-old son, and we try to do at least one cooking projects per week. Grilled cheese is his favorite food, so whenever we're short on time and can't do something big, we Google "grilled cheese variations." So far we've put macaroni and cheese in between two pieces of bread and grilled that (rather ridiculous, I thought); and also had grilled cheese with apple slices; and also pesto, baby spinach, and herb butter. I put about a T of softened butter in a ramekin, gave the 12yo a 1/4 tsp and 4 jars of herbs to choose from - basil, oregano, thyme, and marjoram - and told him to mix whatever herbs he thought would be good into the butter. I was thinking, to myself, maybe a sprinkle of two of them... silly me! He's 12! He was like, "Let's start with a spoonful of each..." But it actually tasted pretty good.Wife of PGY-4 (of 6), cat herder, and mom to a sassy-pants four-nager.

Last weekend, at the art museum, the cafe's special of the day was some variation on beef wellington which included white chocolate french toast, apricots, foie gras, and mushrooms. I read the menu four times convinced that I was reading about two different dishes but it was all together. I couldn't order it.Wife and #1 Fan of Attending Adult & Geriatric Psychiatrist.

Raw potatoes, especially if they are tinted green in some areas, contain high amounts of a chemical called solanine. This occurs in potatoes as a natural defense against insects. Unfortunately, it can cause problems in humans as well. If you consume even just one large green-tinged raw potato, you can experience symptoms such as headaches, nausea and even neurological issues.
ETA: I cant really imagine anyone eating an entire large raw potato...Wife of PGY-4 (of 6), cat herder, and mom to a sassy-pants four-nager.

Dr. Google is a fear-monger
According to livestrong.com, WGW is correct. Although it just talks about green or sprouted taters being bad.
