Good for you, Heidi. I hope they go for it. In the meantime, start looking into opening up your own business with that 25K. If you're going to blow through it, do it living your dream.

Jealous LSW! We need someone with those specs (or like 10 someone) but it's not been easy to find.

Good for you though, sounds like you're carrying way more than your fair share.

Yay, LSW! Good luck - I hope it's approved and you find someone quickly! Otherwise, I hope you enjoy your time off. Either way, there's a light at the end of the tunnel, and I refuse to believe it's a train.

Husband is out of town for a long weekend. After my massage yesterday I canceled all of my rehearsals/plans for the day and sat on the couch finishing the new season of Killing. Pizza is the only food I've consumed in 2 days. Lots of pizza. It's glorious.

Hubby is leaving early today and he has tomorrow off. We *should* do a ton of crap around the house but what I will try to convince him to do is spend time playing games, eating take out, and joining me in the bedroom.

DH left a couple of hours ago for his second week on the away rotation. Last week's Tuesday - Thursday night was doable, hell it was even sort of enjoyable. This week's Sunday - Thursday night might be more tough. Almost as soon as he left I was already so lonely and sad I was in tears (thanks hormones/day-long hangover/lack of sleep). I'm just being overly dramatic and mopey, but I just miss him. I got "Her" from Redbox and started watching it, but the main character was so damn lonely and sad, I had to turn it off.

Plus, I just discovered what looks like some sort of leak from the back of our toilet so I guess I'll be needing to take care of that this week, and DH was pulled over 100 yards from his B&B and cited for his inspection, which we'd gotten conflicting information on from the DMV and were under the impression it wasn't pressing. Guess we were wrong.

Oh...and it's his birthday. He spent it mostly studying and packing and driving, then got the citation for the inspection. He's a little down in the dumps too. Probably going to take half a Xanax and just try again tomorrow...

                                The official public confession thread

                                I heart Toyota.

We just bought a new vehicle and it was EASILY the best experience I've ever had negotiating any deal, and I've negotiated a fair number of deals. The kid listened to us and was entirely straightforward, just like I told him we wanted. He never once attempted to bullshit me and respected the fact that *I* was the one leading the brigade on this deal.

Not only did we get a good price on the Highlander, they gave us DOUBLE what I figured we could get for my old Kia on trade-in. The entire process from the minute we stepped into the lot until we drove off was less than 3 hours, total. That includes the meeting with the finance guy.

                                I'm a convert.
