Double Stroller

My sister's BumbleRide is pretty nice! One of the features on it that I really like is the feet rests rise up. You can move them up so that if you have the seat back reclined, their legs aren't dangling. But the best reason for moving the feet rests up is to access the basket underneath. My Valco's basket is a PITA to access so I rarely use it. But the basket on the BumbleRide is very usable.

I love my Valco, but the main reason I chose it was because it could accommodate 3 children.

IDK if anyone is using a baby jogger stroller but I saw this recall for the infant carseat adapter today. http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Recalls/2013/...for-Strollers/ I'm sort of freaked out because I never felt right about the carseat adapter and I don't even recall what mine looked like or where it is.

I briefly looked into one of the for the BOB and it didn't seem like the carseat actually snaps into it, it just sits on it. Is that right? It worried me so I didn't buy one (and it was $50!) but I never knew for sure.

If I recall correctly, our car seat did not snap into it but it has a strap that goes around the car seat. I never felt secure using it and always kept one hand on the car seat when I did.

My BOB snapped in the same way as the carseat base and snap n go.

Okay, that's good to hear. Maybe it would be work it, although I liked the convenience of the Snap n Go I borrowed from 13 more than the Bob.

I need to think about a Double, but probably not for a year at least. We tend to do a lot of babywearing. I actually really liked using the Bob as a jogger, so I'm thinking about selling it and getting a double Bob when the time comes. Any other really good joggers out there?

The best is a double BOB. But it's also huge and heavy. We will be getting one though since I use it daily for runs. We aren't selling our single though because I can see situations (specifically taking the baby on biz trips) where it'll be helpful.

We got a double City Mini (used on CL). I baby wear a lot but I don't doubt that next summer I'll want a double stroller for outings that isn't as heavy as the BOB.

And to answer the question definitively, the car seat snaps into the BOB (and has a safety strap) that is as secure as the Snap and Go. It worked GREAT! I will be running with #2 as soon as I'm able...none of this "6 months" stuff. It's all about liability. If the kid can survive a car crash in the carseat, there's no reason to think it would be a problem to be in a jogging stroller even if I (heaven forbid) crashed the thing somehow.

We don't have a lot of storage or funds for any extra gear so DH is a bit grumbly that we're keeping the single but I'm literally buying three things for this baby: City Mini, double BOB, and an extra camera for our video monitor.

Yes this! Never ever get rid of a good stroller, ever. A good stroller is an investment and you will always be happy to have an extra. We finally had to get rid of our Aprica after baby 5 (used for all kids, traveled by bus, air and ship) but we still have our Emmaljunga that has been used by all 6 kiddos and is still in near perfect condition even at 19 years old

Hmm...so you guys think a double BOB is too heavy to run with? In that case, I would think about skipping the single and getting another cheaper, lighter double. I don't see much point in a double BOB if running is going to be an issue.

I don't think it's too heavy for jogging and neighborhood use. We love ours. It's just way too big IMHO to use as an everyday stroller. I can't imagine hauling it in and out of car.

It's by far the best double jogger from what I can tell. I don't want to be getting it in and out of a car though. Sucker is heavy to dead lift. That's why I also got the City Mini Double which will basically live in my car.

So I decided to keep my single Bob and get another double used or maybe new, not sure. The double Bob is out because it is just too heavy and I don't see myself using it for jogging often.

I'm thinking about the Phil and Ted, because it looks maneuverable. However how quickly will a kid grow out of that back low seat? My kids get large fast.

The other one I'm thinking is the city mini double. I could still use it as a jogger occasionally and it seems much lighter than the Bob. Does it fit through a single door?

Or would just a double umbrella be better? I'm worried N wouldn't fit. She honestly might be too big for the Bob in a year.
