          That's amazing! Go you!

I need to be here. Today was the one day per week that I'm child free for a few hours and what did I do? Watched Ladies of London for 2 hours is what. No regrets but yeah I could have at least walked on the treadmill while doing it. Starting fresh tomorrow.

Oh man, if I only had one child-free day per week, I wouldn't be spending them working out either! Not to say you can't do it, but no beating yourself off for taking some time off either. Mental health is important, too!

              • I weighed myself. Week 5, have only lost a couple weeks. Maybe I'm not caffeinated enough to care but this is the best I've felt in a long time, maybe ever. I'm finishing days stuffed within or under recommended calories. I'm not ready to freak out and only eat chicken and greens for the rest of my life. If I'm still a fatty for Thanksgiving that'll be just like most every other year.

                • MB, that's great! Even without the scale moving yet (which I'm sure it will soon), feeling better will help you keep it up!

Lifted weights today. Going to Austin this weekend, so I'm just going to own the fact that I'll be gaining weight this week. Back on track Monday!

You know I'm gonna convince myself it turned out to about a pound a week. (I don't remember exactly how much I weighed when I started) Perfectly healthy and natural as long as it continues. 10lbs in a month (like many claim will happen) would've been nice.

Yes! There's a Strava thread somewhere here, but PM me if you want a link to my account.

                          • This week I ran 7.3 miles, and hiked 10.2 miles (7.3 of that this weekend with the kids.) Today, DS had come down with strep throat but he still trucked through a moderately hilly 4 miles with us!

On the way home we stopped at the pharmacy to get his antibiotic prescription, and on a whim I used the blood pressure machine. I'm at 102/69! Two years ago when I started this journey toward better health, I was borderline hypertensive -- I forget exactly, but the diastolic/bottom number was in the 80s. I'm really super happy for this concrete sign that I'm on the right track!
