• So my little brother moved in with us to try and make it in the big city. Yay! He's super active and immediately started doing Insanity videos in the mornings. I'm so not a morning person, but seeing this shamed me into doing the much shorter/easier P90X3 workouts. Today is day 3. I need to be forced to do bodyweight/dumbell training so this is great for me.

Ugh, I hate that feeling of fighting something off. Go you for getting out there!
gcuthbe1, that sounds like a great motivator!

• Missed my goal yesterday, but did manage to do barre before heading to the office. I got to 7k, which is pretty decent for 2 hours of driving and 8 hours of sitting, I think! It is ice and snow here, and I'm working anyway, so limited time for pacing. We'll see how many steps I can rack up in the hallway, though.

Keep it up, everyone!

• I made it to they gym, did legs. It felt good; I haven't been nearly enough this week.

• I got my sister to come to an OrangeTheory class with me!

DH would love it, but I don't want him to go...then I would have to compete with him haha

• Michele, how are you feeling about the accuracy now that you have some more data points? When I first got mine I was surprised by how many steps could accrue from just the activities of daily living. But miscounting definitely happens, my uncle claimed he used to get 2000 steps from driving his car, it made him nuts...

• Oh, and yesterday I ended up with hardly any time to go for a walk, so I just did 2 miles but I took the hardest hilly route I could find through my neighborhood. My rear end is sore and my hamstrings are tight today! >.<

• When I'm walking it seems to count steps accurately. But I also seem to gain steps while driving and doing randomness. I'll keep it the way it is over the weekend, but then I'm going to try the truck if "telling the app its on my dominant hand, but keep it on my non-dominant hand". I didn't do anything active today other than two bus stop walks and a walk to the end of the street. Maybe a half mile if I'm being really generous. So 10K steps for today seems really wrong.

FWIW, I have definitely had days when I got around 10k without actually even leaving the house, even in conjunction with 0 "active minutes" (so I didn't even really move at a steady walk for even 10 minutes). But keep feeling it out. I confess I don't entirely trust the wrist-worn units, but they're pretty well studied for accuracy, or so the Fitbit people claim...

• My husband makes fun of me for wearing my Fibit watch on my shoe now, but it's the only way I know it's accurate when I'm out and about. 😉

Cold 5K today.

Edited: I've been running 2x weekly starting this month. My goal is to work up to running the entire mileage, then hopefully work on bettering my time -- I'd like to add an additional mile or two to the running days in the future.
Today was my first day to run the whole shebang!

Like you went out for 3.1 miles or like you did an organized event? Either way, kudos!

It's 45 and rainy today, and I was going to wimp out of walking. I looked at the weather report and told the kids, "Looks like the rain isn't going to stop until after dark." They replied, "Then we'd better go out now!" So, we did it, walked the 1.5 miles round trip to the toy store. Guess I got some Fitbit steps after all!

That was me today - we hit our high temp upon waking, and I knew that if I didn't go early on, I wouldn't later.

• Stepping out of the Fitbit challenge this week -- baby and I are sick. Friday was supposed to be my first day back at the gym since she was born, so naturally we both woke up with a cold 🙄
