Yeah the pads are critical to success around here too.
No workout yesterday or today. No childcare so couldn't make it happen. I should have done yoga during quiet time but cleaned and tried (unsuccessfully) to nap instead. I can run tomorrow bc my mom is here. I need to figure out something when C isn't in a camp - next week should be a good week bc she's got camp M-F.Married to a Urology Attending! (that is an understated exclamation point)
Mama to C (Jan 2012), D (Nov 2013), and R (April 2016). Consulting and homeschooling are my day jobs.

I decided that since the last couple of days were intense and high-volume respectively, I would go shorter today and save my long run for the weekend. I opted to move my "race pace" run to today though, so I aimed myself at a route with varied terrain and varied surfaces like the race, and watched my Garmin's "virtual pacer" to make sure that I was making time on the flats and downhills (even though I was going easy so I could rest) and not losing too much time on the uphills. It seemed to work out; my splits are all under the pace I wanted so I am feeling pretty good for 10 weeks out!Alison

I think I'm low on electrolytes, or salt? I've run a little low on sodium since I was a kid. The last week or so I've upped my workouts, and then yesterday I was EXHAUSTED (no surprise there, it's end of semester) but lightheaded and dizzy. I took the day off more or less, caught up on emails and ate popcorn. Today I barely got through 30 minutes of rowing and was slow. Got some gatorade on the way home. Felt better but still lightheaded. Got another gatorade later in the day and felt back to normal within a few hours. So I rode up to this park north of town and was immediately back to feeling weak and dizzy. Drank some beer and rode home.

How is your calorie count?
But yeah, other than the possibility that you might not be taking in enough to support your activity, sodium can totally be a thing. DH has had some scary incidences of postural hypotension, and some less scary brushes. Making sure to get a salty snack after exercise seems to help him.Last edited by spotty_dog; 06-03-2016, 11:07 PM.Alison

I made it to the gym today! 20 minutes on stairmaster, 10 minutes on elliptical, and 15-20 minutes on arms. I found out that our next obstacle race is in a stadium rather than a track, so that means a lot of the mileage will be stairs. Eek!Laurie

That sounds intense, LM!
Spotty, I've fallen off with counting the last few days. If not this weekend I'll start up again this week. I highly doubt I wasn't getting enough calories it was just adding in that extra 30-40 minutes of exercise

Right foot is super pissed this morning after a fast wake up and stepping on some giant toy. Ibuprofen it is. 😅

I don't have you Kelly, I will try to find and friend you so I can add you. (Edit: no luck, sorry JRK! Hopefully MB can add you. Also rufflesanddots, Michele, MDPhDWife, do you want in? Looks like y'all aren't in a Fitbitting place at the moment. )
Week two in the bag, ten weeks to go! Got up early to do my long run before DH needed to get moving and do his pre-work stuff. It is already 70 degrees at 9am so it was almost worth running first thing just for that -- I'm dripping sweat as it is. Eyew.Last edited by spotty_dog; 06-05-2016, 11:26 AM.Alison
