    • After a good stall, I am down another pound today.
My goal is another 5-7 pounds before the new year -- I know it's coming off more slowly now. I'm so glad the scale moved, though. I was feeling a little discouraged.

      • Weights day. I have been slacking on the weights a bit and running more, and I could tell. I had to lower my weights at a couple of stations. :-/ But, I did 10 full push ups (followed by 10 on my knees); I'm happy because until recently I couldn't do any with proper form. Definitely need to start doing more of those.

            • I've been under the weather this week so no exercise. Down a pound. I decided after my splurge meal last weekend -- pizza and french onion soup -- that I don't like the way I feel the next day. It's like a minor carb withdrawal. So this weekend I decided my splurge would be making more decadent paleo recipes -- almond butter cookies and chocolate cake, which I brought to ladies night. I was not at all into the sugar like I used to be. Ate a little cheese and some banana bread but I don't think I'm going to have a big splurge meal like I've done previous weekends.

BTW ever since going paleo I've started eating liverwurst a few times a week. DEFINITELY not something I've ever liked -- I'll have pate' a few times a year but not braunschweiger. I wonder if my body digs the vitamin A? Or all that saturated fat..

Also I've given up using cashew or almond milk in my tea. It's just not good. They recommend if you must, to buy whole cream. If I did that DH would flip his shit so I'm buying half and half. The horrors, I know.

              • In an effort to stop eating so much junk, limit my weight gain, and prepare for my upcoming glucose tolerance test, I finally made myself some egg mcmuffins on whole grain English muffins to go in the freezer for this week. I tried last week, but my muffin pan peeled when I pulled the eggs out, and I figured I probably shouldn't be eating whatever is coming off of them. I also got a muffin top pan, so the eggs themselves are better-sized for the sandwich. I ate one this morning, and it was so yummy!

Mmm, when I was pregnant I was SUCH a huge fan of eggy breakfast sandwiches on English muffins! I think I figured out that when I made them at home with Morningstar Farm sausage, it was about half the fat of the McDs version.

So, this weekend I didn't get any exercise, no real walks or runs or hikes. Yet on Saturday I racked up over 14k steps including more than 50 "active minutes"...I guess I was pacing a lot during my son's birthday party, trying to keep track of 12 kids aged 6-11 inside and outside the house!

                  • A friend of mine has a Jawbone she's returning... I'm tempted to buy it from her. I'm not sure I really have a lot more time to add in more workouts, but it seems like it would be neat and maybe encourage me to move a little more. Maybe if she still has it next pay-period.

I did weights and ellipticals today. I need to go do some sit-ups, but I also need to get to the grocery store. So hard to get up off this couch.

And *that* is what a step tracker is good for, LOL. I don't have time to go to the gym, I definitely don't have time for a scheduled class, but I have all the time in the world to simply get off my ass and move instead of sitting. http://lifehacker.com/this-graphic-e...ing-1595834900

Speaking of which, no time to run or hike today between going to the grocery store, making lunch for hubby, volunteering at the third grade, doing my chores, and getting kids to soccer practice. So, I walked to my volunteer gig -- about 30 minutes added to my trip, in exchange for about 7k steps to my total. Works for me!

                      • Today's the first day in a week I haven't taken any sort of medicine. It's been a week since I worked out. My favorite yoga class is tonight but I'm not sure I have it in me yet. The class is HARD. Some of the regulars are yoga instructors. I think I'm going to wait until Wednesday, which is generally a little less strenuous.

For awhile we were cooking our food for the week on Sunday afternoons but I've realized, now that I've gotten DH to help me with errands / domestic tasks I actually enjoy doing them more by myself! So now that Mondays are a lighter teaching day that's when I cook. Here's what I made for the week: 6 rosemary crusted chicken breasts, steamed kale & tomato, cauliflower "tortillas" (did NOT turn out like the blog photos), Moroccan carrot soup, and I'm about to make a tomato soup. I've even started portioning them in smaller containers so it doesn't take as long to pack lunches. Huzzah!

I'm glad you're feeling better! I'm still on decongestants and antihistamines and stuffy and coughing, and probably haven't broken 2000 steps all week. So tired of being sick. I was least able to put 4-5 hours of work in, today, and had a phone meeting with our new tax person, and plowed through my inbox, so...progress?

                            • Class was cancelled (!) yesterday, but even though I was bummed, I got in loads of activity this weekend.
Down another pound since last update, teetering on the edge for a new number.

                              • 5 miles trying to keep up with the missus running this morning. Beautiful day to be outside. I was done after the 5, she continued for a few more!

Sadly new digital bathroom scales have added weight to me.... thrilled.
