• Anyone turkey trot today?

I had a 5k which I then realized was actually a 5 miler, but I didn't have enough time for that distance and to get home on time to go to Philly, so I did a portion and exited the park to run home. Ended up doing 4 miles in 44 minutes! Not too shabby for 5 months prego! it felt really good!

I'm super impressed! At 5 months, things get a little tricky for me, personally.

Proud of you -- watch those sore joints, momma. ☺️

Yeah I'm not looking forward to the joint loosening, but none that I've noticed yet thankfully! Maybe the lack of weight gain helps me out, too. Hoping I can keep at it for awhile longer. Woohoo runner's high!

I doubt that! You're just super busy and sleep deprived lately! You'll get back to a schedule I'm sure, you're very dedicated!

                  • I did the Dallas Half with ladymoreta and DrLadyMoreta today! It went soooooo much better than expected, especially since I broke cardinal race rules of wearing new shoes and eating Indian food for dinner the night before. I've also missed most of my runs the past 2-3 weeks...

At any rate, my main goal was to be faster than the one I did 5 years ago. I beat my time by 5.5 minutes with a time of 2:36. My stretch goal was an under 12 min mile pace. I just did that too! My ultra stretch goal was to run the whole thing...and amazingly I did it! (Except for water stops, but hey, that's legit, right?) I never ever ever thought I could run for that long straight--I actually felt pretty good the whole time too. (Now I'm not going to be able to walk tomorrow, but that is a different story...)

The best part was DH decided to drop me off instead of making me find parking or take transit solo. Then he took the kids to breakfast and they met me five different times around the course. Apparently he had to do quite a few miles with all 3 kids to make that happen! It made my day! I'm really glad my oldest got to see mommy run too

This time last year I was dying doing 3 min running intervals at at 13:00 pace! My goals this year were to do a 15k, sprint tri, and half marathon. I bailed on the sprint tri because the kids were sick, but I rocked the other two!

I'm mulling doing the OKC marathon in Spring of 2018 to celebrate my 30th birthday...if I'm not pregnant and training works out with DH's schedule--it gets tricky when the runs get long on weekday mornings. I want to do it once!

Maybe time for a new accountability thread?

                      • GREAT job! Don't you just love that feeling of elation after a race? Love that you're looking for what's next already!

                        • I'm still here, even though I haven't actively posted in here.

I have back muscles! Wow! And the arm definition is coming in, too. I've never experienced this in my life, and I feel good. I'm also down a few pounds from my last post too, which is always nice.

Scheduled to run a 5K in Feb., and ready to get serious about running again.
