        • Today we got a zoo membership! It gets us into the zoo, aquarium, and butterfly garden/insectarium. We had so much fun walking around today with a friend who had her baby in January - I'm looking forward to going more often! And I can bring in guests, in case anybody come to visit.

          • Zoo memberships are the best. I'm so sad we don't have one close enough here.

                • Today I hit "next episode" 7 times on Amazon Prime for N while DH and I passed out on the couch, baby on me. During this time she apparently feasted on spicy Cheetos. Parenting at its finest

                    • Today I'm in such a bad mood. I need a time out. Even I'm irritated with myself, so you should be sending sympathy to DH and the kids!

                        • What a day! I had a boy pass out in my third period class, and it scared the crap out of me! We had talked as he entered the room...I greeted him and asked how he was, and he answered that he was fine, but very tired. He has been struggling with a kidney stone, so I asked him how he was doing with that, and he said it hadn't been bothering him today. The bell rang and I got busy with attendance and getting class started. The activity today was reading (we took turns reading aloud) from a choir text book I have. I have to do literacy activity at least once a week, and this was it. The chapter contained several vocab words that will be on a rubric that will be used when we go to Contest in a few weeks. I noticed, as I began to read, that this same boy had his head down on his desk. I remembered he had said he was tired, and I touched him on the shoulder as I read (he was on the front row). No response. I gently shook his shoulder. Nothing. I gave up reading and said his name, while patting his back. Absolutely nothing. I squatted down so I could see his face and grabbed his hands, while saying his name. His hands were ice cold, and there was still no response. All the other kids (~35) were watching and starting to freak out. I sent one to get the nurse and another to get a wet paper towel for the back of his neck. I jostled his shoulder again and his arm, which had been outstretched on his desk, fell off the desk. It was floppy. I could tell he was breathing and had a pulse (and told the kids that), but I was starting to freak out, too! The nurse and asst. principal came in and couldn't rouse him. All three of us (he was completely floppy and it took all three of us....he's taller than me and not overweight, but built more like a man than a boy), got him out of his desk and into my desk chair (which has wheels), and rolled him to the clinic and called 911. He went to the ER and was later released. He came to a couple of times in the clinic, but kept passing back out. Apparently an aunt and an uncle were both diagnosed with narcolepsy at around the same age, so he is going to be tested.

I had started the day at 7:20 with a faculty meeting, and that all happened around 10:30. I was drained after that, but I still had to teach the rest of that class and 4 others. My youngest was home (alone) with a bad cold, so I was a little distracted wondering about him and checking in on him via text during passing periods. I came home to hear that DS #2 is now not feeling well. The dawkter is on call (not home), and now I am hearing that another winter storm is headed our way. Ugggghhhhh.
