I'm curious, where do people go for unbiased comparisons between candidates? I usually turn to the League of Women Voters for a first look, but I notice that only Trump and Carson have deigned to submit information for the Republican part of their guide. So I still don't know what the political differences are between Trump, Rubio, and Cruz. What similar resources are out there?

I would look at their websites to find out their positions on various issues but watching the debates is very eye opening too. I don't know if there is an unbiased resource out there.

I find it both amusing and horrifying that the list of Republican candidates in order of popularity directly correlates with the list of who disgusts me most. I'm not a Clinton fan because she's so freaking entitled. I like Bernie and how he has run his campaign but his ideas are too much for this country. I hate that I will have to vote for someone I don't like just to keep a nut job out of the white house.

Well in general, Cruz=Tea Party, Rubio=Conservative but not as conservative as Cruz, and Trump=Batshit crazy

Whoops. I misspoke. But the margin is pretty thin. Granted this is biased.

Well, sure, I can get the basic idea from the media headlines. And if I care enough I can pick over each individual campaign website looking for specific points of comparison. But it's nice to have a question asked and the candidates answer it in their own words -- like a debate, but less polished for television, and not requiring that I pick through hours of transcripts when all I really want is a rough idea.

Anyway it's just idle speculation. I am not affiliated with the Republican party, so I honestly should just put my head in the sand until the Convention I guess.

But he's entertaining. Maybe his role will be to make the discussions more real? I don't know.

it's one thing to want our politicians to be unfiltered; but you have to consider what comes out of their mouths when they are unfiltered. there is a reason that people don't always speak their minds in every situation. Manners, civility, social constraints, diplomacy... Trump lacks all of those things.

It's silly, but you can look at isidewith.com They have most of the candidates positions and voting records with issues.

I just don't understand. I really hope that the Republican Party has an epic level meltdown and we get something new. I can't identify with the crazy right wingers at all anymore. I need another option.

Although props to Texas and Oklahoma for not making the truly disgusting choice.

I also take back my assertion that we don't need the electoral college anymore. America is more stupid than I really thought.

This exactly. 6 months ago I was railing that it is completely obsolete. Now?

I think this is what scares me most-- that there is this huge swath of people with whom I have absolutely zero connection. I sit pretty far to the left, but I live in reddish state and know many varieties of Republicans, and yet I don't know anyone who knows anyone who doesn't think Trump is terrible. Who are all these people, and how did we get so disconnected that I can't even find anyone who knows them, much less help me understand their points of view to try to talk about what is clearly a crisis.
