  • What's your weather like?

I didn't talk to my parents one day because I was working so late and I find out that my dad spent the night at work and my mom ha to abandon her car after going 2 miles in 5 hours and walk home the remaining 2 miles. My dad is afraid he'll have to stay again. Crazy!

ETA they're in Atlanta...they didn't get THAT much snow!!

It's amazing. I get that a lot of southern cities don't have things like salt trucks, but I think this has reached a mass hysteria level. Everyone in the country should be required to take driving lessons in the north. There is no good reason for roads to be that clogged up over a light dusting of snow. A friend in MN had her work trip to Atlanta cancelled not because of MN weather, but because colleagues on the GA end can't get to the office. That's absurd.

      • A lot of the time, it's not snow, it's ice, and they don't get rid of it. Add that to lots of elevated highways...

But yes, people suck at driving in winter weather down here.

        • Even on a good day Atlanta is a traffic congestion nightmare, so it doesn't take much to make the experience exponentially worse.

                        • Snowing here today, looks like we'll get a couple of inches. I know its nothing compared to what a lot of people have been dealing with lately but I'm so over it!

Unfortunately, no, you are not allowed to wish for more snow.

                              • 4-6 inches of snow tomorrow, starting out as freezing rain. School districts already preemptively closing. Excited about driving to and from work tomorrow, woohoo!
