  • A Moby can fit pretty much anyone because it's just a wrap...a long rectangular piece of material.

The mei tai is a good option as well and one that will last longer. The Moby will work until about 15 pounds. And only for front carries. The mei tai will work for up to 30 pounds (or more for some of them) and can be used for back carries.

I'll try to get a video done of the various carriers and if my model cooperates the various positions.

      • Here's a pic of a sleeping toddler. She's about 19 pounds and 29" tall maybe?

        • We have the Ergo and the infant insert - I didn't think we needed the infant insert but DH decided he wanted it and ordered it right after she was bored. I went along with it because I did NOT want to dampen any babywearing enthusiasm on his part.

I don't know why I want something besides the Ergo. I just do! I think because she's a little cuddle bunny and I want to be able to form her against me more snuggly. Plus, I think the Ergo is still a little long on my torso. I think it would work on my back better but I'm thinking that I want a wrap.

Off to research mei tais and mobys.

          Kris - I sent you a PM.

          • Here's a link to how to make your own Moby-style wrap.

            http://www.rookiemoms.com/how-to-make-a-moby-wrap/

I got fabric that didn't need hemming...just cut it and let it be. I also just drew a dot with a Sharpie for the middle marker. But using a button or some thread or a separate piece of fabric would help when you need to find it by feel.

My sister got a striped fabric and just cut it along the stripes for the desired width. She made sure to have one edge be one color and the other a different color so she could tell which rail she was tightening. Mine was a solid color with no wrong side.

              • The video shows how to tie a Pocket Wrap Cross Carry. It's my go-to newborn carry. But when they talk about putting the baby in, the wrap is WAY too loose! It's better tied snugly because the stretchiness of the fabric lets you open it enough to squeeze the kid in.

Do you have a Buy Buy Baby nearby? They usually have a baby carrier spot where you can try them all out! They even have a little doll baby just in case you go alone!

                              • My in-laws said they'd get a baby carrier for us...I have the Moby wrap and a couple of Hot slings. If I just got one more, which would you think would be best? I'm leaning towards a Beco. I'm petite - 5'1 and DH is 5'11.
