I bought a juicer today and a ton of produce. I didn't get swiss chard, but will use the beet greens instead.

I an thinking of doing it during the day, but still eating dinner with the family. It would feel weird to not eat with the kids.

            Beets
            Kale
            Carrot
            Pear

Not bad. Kale makes like no juice.

DS says it tastes like grass and/or corn silk.

I did the green machine. The kale made very little juice and was sort of a PIA to get through the machine. I don't like that much lemon, so I imagine I will be reducing the amt of that by about half for each recipe.

I wonder if you could run peas through the juicer, particularly snow peas?

Kale doesn't make all that much juice, it's true. We do it first, then all the other ix to wash it in.

I've only done the one drink. I just barely had a chance to get to the store. It's been a bit crazy around here. I am hoping to begin Monday in earnest. I don't know that I'll even be able to do just one day. Maybe breakfast and lunch, but dinner will be HARD!!!! When I'm cooking for the family, it's like impossible for me not to want the deliciousness. Or, let's be honest, even the crap. I am food's bitch.

Kale just seemed ridiculously void of any juice at all. Also, I did remember the bag trick, but it was still a giant mess. Good gravy, beets!

I had to stop myself several times from instinctively tasting the boys' food. Oh, how I looooove food. I feel you! Heading into day four of no chewing tomorrow.

Okay, so I thought the second and third day were easier than the first (I guess that's weird). The thing I like about the guy who wrote the PDF is that he said start with 1 day, then 3, then 5 - kind of work your way up. Three days was honestly okay. I'm ready to have some superbowl food (although my menu is fairly healthy and I'm going to go easy). Next week, I'm going to eat veg-heavy. I may do a 5 day the week after. I don't know if I'll ever do a 7 day. At least not while I'm home with two kids all day.

It's supposed to get easier. This has been my easiest day. And now I'm so far in I can easily get to a week or more.
