  • Didn't run today -- going to see podiatrist to rule out PF.
Will probably run on Thursday instead.

Killer cross twining class yesterday - so many burpee variations! 😳

Twining? Some sort of maternal Freudian slip?

      • I finally got the piggyback board for my stroller, and E really likes it, so hopefully we can go for more walks soon!

          • Still really enjoying yoga. Birthday is coming up so I may ask for some gift certificates to the studio so I can keep taking classes.

            • Strep has me out -- I should be okay to resume possibly on Monday.

On the up and up: had my foot pain checked out by podiatrist, and walked away with athletic arch supports. X-rays showed no stress fracture (thank goodness!) and he doesn't suspect PF due to type of pain and its location. DX is overuse. 😅

              • My trainer told me to do swimming at the gym today to work on endurance. I am really intimidated trying new things, but DH got off really early (post call), so he went with me. So nice having someone there to figure it out with me! But... I'd asked her if/when they had classes, and she said it was open for anyone. We got there, and they said there was a class in 15 minutes. So we did 5 laps, and I was exhausted! It'll be a good workout to mix in, but I wish I'd had more time. She is so scatterbrained. I know you're right that I should just ask to switch trainers, but I like her, and I'm terrible at that sort of thing.

If you ignore her food advice and like her workout advice, and can work around her ditziness, then it's fine to stay with her. Swimming is a *great* all-over workout, for sure! Keep at it!

Swimming gets easier with technique...if definitely look into some lessons or a Masters team to get you started. That's just the only way to really get faster.

                      • Today I only needed about 4 miles but hubby convinced me it would be fun if he drove me and the kids to the beach, where they could play with driftwood while I did a nearby flat 5-ish mile loop. It did turn out to be fun! And my pace was only 13 seconds or so off from the last time I did that loop, last summer when I was feeling pretty fit. So I am feeling good!

                          • Well, my Fitbit is effectively dead. I guess 2 years of hard use is an okay lifespan for the low-end model, but I was hoping for more since it's the replaceable battery which seems more robust. I replaced the battery recently, after I *think* just a couple of months (supposed to be 4-6 months to a battery), and it's already showing a low charge 10 days later. Fitbit support just says "Yep, our data shows it isn't working right," and they can offer me a 25% discount to buy a new one. Admittedly I'd been thinking of buying one of the fancier ones with floors and things, but I wanted to squeeze a little more use out of my current one first. And we were trying to avoid unnecessary expenses this month for various reasons. So this kinda blows. On the other hand, I'd even considered asking for one for Mother's Day, so 25% off isn't SO bad…

                            • Did the 5 boro bike tour Sunday in pouring rain. All in all 50 miles. It went close enough to my apt that I just stopped home and changed into dry clothes and then continued to the finish lol!
Now my brother and I are locked into the final countdown to our half marathon in a couple weeks. Woohoo spring race season!

                              • Trying to get back into the healthy eating groove after our trip, but each day something tempting crops up. Yesterday we made desserts for my mom and today I got a free cookie at Panera. Of course I'm incapable of passing things up.
