I'm watching Season 3 Episodes as they air on PBS in the States and it started with the wedding of Matthew and Mary. It makes Matthew and Sibyl's characters all that more enduring as I pay more attention to them. I always found Sibyl's character incredibly kind and Matthew became more likable with each episode. After the Christmas Special I'm still feeling devastated over Matthew and Mary but with revisiting Season 3 I understand why the producers had to do it the way they did. I really hope they get Season 4 on the same page in the States as they have it in Europe so we're not months behind again. I'm so looking forward to seeing how Mary rises from this.

If you can help it sure. Though I'm really surprised because the cats already out of the bag with news article, ect elsewhere and every where. Also don't read back through this thread then and I'll not say any more for those just catching Season 3.

I haven't seen any news articles. Most folks talking about it on this thread now are probably people who are watching it as it airs in the US. Speaking of which -- episode 2 tonight!! DH whined about it being 2 hours last week (not like I *made* him sit in front of the tv and watch it, but whatever ).

If you googled "Downton Abbey" anytime before Christmas, cat would have been out of the bag, but glad you didn't! IMHO, this was a really stupid season to show months after in the US.

Hell, I've only just started on Season 1 because everyone is raving about it. Avoiding spoilers here, too.

                      • That poor girl. Such the middle child. I can't say I'm surprised given how screwed she's gotten in the past. She seems destined to be a spinster. I think she'll take on the "cool aunt" role to all of Mary's future children and they'll all run to her when mean ole mommy drops the hammer.

                          • Is anyone finding this season to be much more predictable than previous season?

                            • I may have seen this last twist coming but that didn't stop me from big fat ugly crying on Sunday. I was so attached to Sybil's character.
