      • Today I spent an hour unsubscribing to e-mails and clearing out his inbox for DH after he complained about all the e-mails he gets. Dude, why are you subscribed to Cracker Barrel and freaking Quaker Oats?? There are still hundreds of crap e-mails still left in the inbox.

            • MsSassy, call your vet and see if they will give you and the neighbor a feral cat discount to neuter the whole family. Then just fix them and let them back out. If your vet agrees, make sure they "tip" an ear. That way no one else has to wonder if they are neutered or not. The vet may even have a live trap you could borrow.

Taking the time to unsub your SO from unnecessary inbox-cluttering things is indeed a great idea. And ha, I'm not alone! I took 12 envelopes, addressed each one to our landlord, put stamps on each one, and added my SO's return address labels, so now we have a year's worth of ready-to-go envelopes so our rent check is always on time. And I sort my SO's mail (postal mail), which she only opens maybe once every couple of months. I used to just put it next to her placemat at the table each day when it came, but it piled up so much that I got a mail sorter and made labels: Medical & Dental; Other Bills; Personal/Non-profits/Misc.; Work & Finance.

Thanks Michele, I will try this if they prove to be truly feral and all the patience and tasty treats don't work!

Our last landlord wouldn't take autopay/autodeposit (he wanted a paper check so he could put it in whatever account he wanted to when he got it - which is nuts; HE WORKS FOR A BANK - you'd think he'd have figured out how to transfer between accounts, but oh, well) - I actually spent a couple hours writing out two years worth of envelopes AND CHECKS, so all we had to do was drop the right one in the mailbox on the right day.

Since all the finances are my job anyway, I don't consider that doing something for DH, though. That was to make MY life easier.

Yeah, I'm the one with time and SO is the one with the money, so basically I keep track of the bills' due dates and mailing them, and usually even write out the checks so SO just has to sign them.
