I told DH about this and he can't stop laughing! Did you get them out yet? I agree, poor birdies!

Will do! As nuts as the cold is, I'm super grateful there's no snow up here. We made the decision to drive to the rotation in 2 days (today being the second day) and made it north of the big snow storm in IL/IN/OH before it hit. Whew!

I keep thinking about the poor animals out there! I hope we don't end up with a bunch of frozen carcasses over the next few days!

This is good to hear. Thanks for all the reassurance, guys!

They are gone ... and I feel so bad about it!!! I consoled myself by the idea that I have the kid's treehouse outside and the door is open so they can get in there if they find it.

            • Cancelled here too. I'm hoping enough businesses stay open - I have a few errands that I have got to run tomorrow (our sitter is coming over - no way would I take the girls)

                • I honestly don't know why people bitch about the PNW. It is crystal-clear, sunny, and not a cloud in the sky here.

Same here. Absolutely gorgeous day, but we get a LOT less rain than the west side.

                      • Forties and sunny here today and tomorrow, though it was freezing overnight and we had a lovely dusting of frost until it warmed up midday. Keep warm folks!

                        • High of -11 with 20mph winds. My dentist is closed (had an appt.) and several local counties. Not us though. They've already announced they'll be open tomorrow.

I'm torn. I know I need to be at work but I don't like the idea of the taking Minnie out.

I'll decide whether to call in sick in the a.m..... any advice?

Our house sounds like it's going to cave in - winds are intense and our house is drafty It's currently -26* with the windchill. I'm really worried about DH walking from where he parks to the hospital in scrub pants...he could legitimately freeze his balls off out there!
