What's your weather like?

We have -33F here right now with the wind chill. I pulled out of the garage to take Aidan to a friend's house and a flock of birds flew in. I can't get them out. Don't want to shut the garage door, but don't want the cold air in the garage either... Poor Birds!

I told DH about this and he can't stop laughing! Did you get them out yet? I agree, poor birdies!

Regardless, be safe out there! I would be scared to death driving in all this mess. I moved with my DH while he did rotations all over the country during med school. Its a pain the butt even without the added stress of record low temps!! Gezzz, hang in there! KUP!

Will do! As nuts as the cold is, I'm super grateful there's no snow up here. We made the decision to drive to the rotation in 2 days (today being the second day) and made it north of the big snow storm in IL/IN/OH before it hit. Whew!

I keep thinking about the poor animals out there! I hope we don't end up with a bunch of frozen carcasses over the next few days!

I grew up in Alaska, I love the thrill of having the deicing trucks come around and spray down the plane before takeoff. We went on vacation every winter, and usually either took off or landed in negative temps. No biggie.

They are gone ... and I feel so bad about it!!! I consoled myself by the idea that I have the kid's treehouse outside and the door is open so they can get in there if they find it.

Same here. Absolutely gorgeous day, but we get a LOT less rain than the west side.

It is freezing and foggy here but the sun came out briefly.

Forties and sunny here today and tomorrow, though it was freezing overnight and we had a lovely dusting of frost until it warmed up midday. Keep warm folks!

High of -11 with 20mph winds. My dentist is closed (had an appt.) and several local counties. Not us though. They've already announced they'll be open tomorrow.

I'm torn. I know I need to be at work but I don't like the idea of the taking Minnie out.

I'll decide whether to call in sick in the a.m..... any advice?

What's your weather like?

Our house sounds like it's going to cave in - winds are intense and our house is drafty It's currently -26* with the windchill. I'm really worried about DH walking from where he parks to the hospital in scrub pants...he could legitimately freeze his balls off out there!

I have an 8 am dr. appt that I am doing to have to cancel bc there is no way I am dragging both kids in with me for my annual exam. They were both supposed to be at school.
